About this house rental
This architecturally designed home sits sympathetically in a cul-de-sac amongst native planting alongside an orchard with views of the big Wairarapa skies and the heights of the Tararuas.
Staying here you will enjoy a quiet stay. The light and airy open plan living/dining area connects seamlessly through stacker doors with a large covered deck and outdoors, perfect for BBQs and entertaining.
You will enjoy a well-equipped kitchen so you can cook at home, a relaxing cosy TV snug area, double glazing throughout and a wood-burner for those chillier nights.
You will find many amenities are close by; a playground, sportsfield and free outdoor summer pool. There is easy access to the Wairarapa Five Towns Trail, connecting Greytown to Featherston via a suspension bridge. Runners can join the Saturday morning Park Run on a section of the Rail Trail from Woodside train station. The new skate park in Greytown is worth checking out.
Greytown village has great shopping, cafes and restaurants less than 10 mins walk away. The shopping includes a French bakery, bookshop, interior design shops, wine and gin specialists. So many activities at your doorstep, from the New Zealand Festival of Christmas in July each year, food truck nights, theatre and Cobblestones museum.
From the home you can wander the Waiohine River track, an easy countryside walk on quiet roads and walking track (4.5km loop), and its lovely to dip into the river on those warm summer days.
There are a number of rivers for trout fishing within easy reach. The Tararuas offers endless tramping options from family walks to more challenging routes. The Wairarapa Gliding Club nearby offers trial flights of you have a desire to get airborne.
The local urban vineyard Alexia offers wine tasting (a Rosé to die for) over the summer months. A 17 minutes drive takes you to Martinborough to explore the expanse of vineyards, several shuttle services from Greytown can also get you there.
Greytown is 1 hour 15 mins drive from Wellington, you can take the train option from Wellington that connects with a bus at Woodside railway station that drops you 100 metres from the home.
