What a lovely experience. The place is set in a peaceful Chianti borgo, and we were gently woken by the sound of the ancient bell. We started the morning with some body and mind awakening with Manuel, which was a great way to ease into the day.
Breakfast was good, and we were made to feel very welcome in this relaxed, family-style setting. The swimming pool is small but definitely enjoyable, especially on a warm day.
Lunch and dinner were available too, and we took advantage of both — simple, genuine Italian home cooking. We especially loved Renata’s cooking!
We’ll definitely keep an eye out for whatever Cortona Friends comes up with next. It would be nice to do it again sometime.
Having only one night to spend there, we would have liked it closer to Siena: it is only 12km or 13 km, but it takes over 30mins because of the windy road.
