Calico Thicket Farm Co began out of a desire to provide our friends and family with the most nurtritious, and delicious foods we could produce. For 4 years, we have been working non-stop to bring this property back to life, and convert the spaces to ones that provide wholesome food, friendships and community, and encourage learning and health. Our farm house is a private friends & family space, connecting people to the simple pleasures of simple life, in a no-frills farm setting, which is still a bit rough around the edges in places. The flowerbeds often need weeding, the fences are waiting to be replaced, and the shop, quite honestly, is an eyesore. But don't let that deter you from experiencing a taste of hard-working country life, where you can sit on the back patio with a book and a blanket and listen to the birds and the rushing creek far below, or even grab the extra blankets and spend the night out with the kids.
While we continue to chip away at the to-do list, there is one chore we're excited to have recently completed: The home interior has been renovated, and is delightfully cozy, comfortable, and clean!
We have a number of farm animals on our property, and their health and safety is important to us. Feel free to visit the sheep at the fence, or the chickens in the red coop, but we kindly ask that they not be fed anything without permission, that all gates stay shut, and that no one enter the pastures or garden gates. The best way to see the geese in the orchard is by walking up the gravel road to the paved road. and watching them from the fence. Thank you for understanding!
