Our cabin sits just one mile from Crystal Mountain Resort, with direct access to kayaking, tubing, and fishing on the Betsie River—home to Chinook and Coho salmon, Steelhead, Brown, Rainbow, and Brook trout. Lake Michigan’s stunning sunsets are only 20 minutes away.
Winter brings ideal conditions for downhill and cross country skiing at Crystal Mountain, snowshoeing around our 1.5 acre property and nearby trails, or cozying up by the gas fireplace with a good book, board game, puzzle, or movie. Multiple snowmobile trail access points are close by as well.
Spring is perfect for a relaxing spa weekend at Crystal’s full service spa or golfing at one of Crystal’s two four-star (Golf Digest) courses. The Michigan Legacy Art Park offers a beautiful 1.6 mile hike year round. Spring also means morel hunting season—Mesick, just 15 minutes away, is known as the “Mushroom Capital of the U.S.”
Summer is a favorite time in Northern Michigan. Explore Lake Michigan’s beaches just 20 miles away, and don’t miss the unforgettable sunsets in Frankfort or at Arcadia’s Inspiration Point. For a classic Michigan adventure, book a tubing trip on the nearby Platte River. Our cabin includes three kayaks for guests to float down the Betsie or fish right from the dock. Crystal Mountain’s Crystal Coaster Alpine Slide offers a thrilling 1,700 foot ride, and their property features biking, hiking, and scenic chairlift rides. At the end of the day, come back to relax in the air conditioned cabin or build a fire outside in the fire pit.
Fall delivers breathtaking color. Crystal Mountain offers panoramic chairlift views across three counties during peak season. September and October are also prime months to watch fish migrate upstream. End your day with a crackling campfire in the pit right along the riverbank.

The cabin/home is a great location for those visiting Crystal Mountain, Michigan Legacy Art Park or floating down the Betsie River. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well-stocked and there are plenty of books and games for families.

The bed was very comfortable. Nice selection of movies. It was a rainy night so we enjoyed one. The river was great. Our son caught a rainbow trout. He was very excited.

Overall place is cozy but could of been cleaned better. Found drink in coozie in the closet. Things did not feel clean like the dinning table and counter to eat on still were dirty and the pull out bed is not clean!!! So when you list it for 6 people -minus 2 for the pull out bed.... Big ole stain of some sort not quite sure what......blood; drink; not sure but overall we had a wonderful time. House is very cozy and great location for site seeing!
