Harvey Rumble was custom built for us by Wilderness Vans in Lethbridge, Alberta. This high roof van is on the Promaster 1500 136" wheelbase, making it just as easy to drive as any SUV. At just under 18' feet, it can be parked in most regular spots. Harvey was designed to have everything you need and nothing you don't. The fixed full-sized bed is comfortable for a smaller couple (we're both under 5'8"), and ready to be used as soon as you pull into your site. There's a 20L water jerry in the kitchen area, a small electric fridge, and a 2-burner Coleman stove tucked under the hinged countertop. There's another stove in the back for cooking outside. The portable sink lives in a big drawer under the office chair. Multiple overhead cabinets are available for storing clothing, food, and gear. Behind the office chair there is a small closet for hanging clothes and a huge pull-out pantry for food. The kitchen has a cutlery drawer, dish drawer, cookware drawer, and utility drawer all stocked to make your trip as easy as possible. Harvey has two huge batteries that run the fridge, lights, fan, and Webasto gas furnace in cold weather. The easy-to-use EcoFlow system can be charged by the alternator while driving, the 400W solar panels on the roof, or shore power when available. In the sun, Harvey will run off-grid indefinitely. Without sun, the batteries will last 48-72 hours under normal loads. Harvey has multiple awning windows with bug screens and shades, as well as an electric roof fan. There are also bug screens for the sliding door, rear door, and cab windows, as well as a privacy screen for the windshield. The garage area is huge, with room to haul whatever you might want to take with. However, bikes are only welcome on the hitch-mounted bike rack.
