Out at the tip of the Leelanau Peninsula, Northport Noir feels like a piece of paradise at the end of the earth.
The A-frame's peaked roofline and wall-to-wall windows face straight west over the water, so the lake is the first thing you see walking in, and it's still putting on a show at sunset from nearly every room.
Inside, the entry opens to a bright staircase hung with designer art and leads straight into a kitchen built for cooking with a crowd. A waterfall marble island, open shelving, and a skylight overhead make it feel more like a design shoot than a rental, and the under-stair coffee bar with its own mini drink fridge means someone can make coffee without ever getting in the way of breakfast.
The living room is the heart of the place. Vaulted ceilings, oversized west-facing windows, and a sunlit lounge that opens onto the deck make it easy to spend a whole evening right there watching the light change over Cathead Bay, and the dining space next to it catches the same view over dinner.
On the main level there are two bedrooms and a full bathroom. One bedroom features a king bed and the other with 2 full beds sleeping up to 4 people. The third bedroom upstairs is the master with ensuite bathroom featuring a tiled shower and the checkerboard floor. A few other amenities not often found on cathead bay are a full laundry room and air conditioning!
Out back, the private water frontage on Cathead Bay is yours for the stay, a wooded path down to the shore with stairs to the water and the kind of turquoise you don't expect this far up the peninsula.
