About this house rental

Welcome to our family's 750-acre cattle ranch in Parlin, Colorado, on County Road 76, the same road that leads up to Pitkin. We spread our guests across two separate homes, a fully renovated ranch house and a newly built barn conversion, giving you a total of 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Between the two homes, you'll find 3 king beds, 2 queens, a double, a single, and a sofa bed, plenty of room whether you're one family, a group of friends, or two families traveling together. Four living spaces and two dedicated, separate desks give anyone who needs to check in with work a quiet place to do it.

Step outside and you've got two distinct hangout spots. The deck has a grill, a table, and Adirondack chairs, good for slow mornings and easy dinners. The patio has a Blackstone griddle, a fire pit, and its own table and chairs, our favorite spot after a long day outdoors. There's also plenty of open space for lawn games and enough yard for pets you might bring with you. Parking is never an issue either, whether you're bringing ATVs, UTVs, RVs, trucks, or all of the above, and an automatic gate at the entrance keeps the whole property private and secure.

This is a working ranch, so expect to see our cattle grazing right outside, along with regular visits from deer, elk, and moose. You can ride straight from your door onto our private ATV trail, which connects into the network of public trails running through Gunnison and Pitkin County, some of the best 4-wheeling and dirt biking anywhere in Colorado. If you fish, we also offer 2.5 miles of private trout creek access on the property for an additional fee, and there's a second stream running right alongside the house if you just want to enjoy the sound of moving water without wetting a line.

We're about as centrally located as it gets for exploring this part of Colorado. Pitkin is about 15 minutes up the road, with more trailheads than you'll get through in a week. Blue Mesa Reservoir and Taylor Reservoir are both around 30 minutes for boating and fishing, and Waunita Hot Springs is about 25 minutes away if you're interested in a soak. Crested Butte is 45 minutes if you want skiing, mountain biking, or a night out in town. Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is under an hour and a half, same with the 14ers of the Collegiate Peaks, and Royal Gorge is 2 hours if you want to make a day of it.

Whether your group is here to hunt, fish, ride, hike, climb, ski, or just get away from it all, there's more than enough within reach to fill your stay without ever repeating a day!
