Welcome to our beautifully renovated country house in the Salzburg countryside – a peaceful retreat surrounded by meadows, forests and traditional farms, yet only around 20 minutes by car from the historic city of Salzburg.

Our cottage has welcomed guests from around the world and has earned over 100 five-star reviews on another leading vacation rental platform. Guests particularly appreciate the peaceful location, the quality and comfort of the house and its convenient proximity to Salzburg.

Completely renovated in 2023, the house combines the traditional character of a Salzburg country home with a fresh, modern interior and carefully selected furnishings.

The House

The upper floor offers three comfortable, fully air-conditioned bedrooms with sleeping arrangements for up to eight guests, plenty of storage space and two bathrooms.

On the ground floor, you will find a spacious and fully air-conditioned living and dining area overlooking the south-facing garden. The open-plan kitchen is fully equipped for preparing meals at home, while the comfortable lounge area with Smart TV is perfect for relaxing after a day exploring Salzburg and the surrounding lakes and mountains.
Two air-conditioning units keep the main living area comfortable during the warmer summer months.

The lower level receives natural daylight through west-facing windows and provides an additional living and sleeping area with two further sleeping options, storage space and a second large Smart TV.

The house can therefore comfortably accommodate families and larger groups while still offering plenty of space to spread out.

Work & Longer Stays

For guests combining their holiday with work, we have created a separate workspace with a small library of English and German books and graphic novels, an HP Wi-Fi printer, wireless computer mouse and office supplies.

Fast Wi-Fi is available throughout the house.

Garden & Mountain Views

One of our favourite parts of the cottage is the garden.

From here you can look across the historic village centre and its 15th-century church towards the Austrian and Bavarian mountains.

Enjoy breakfast or dinner outside in the garden lounge, relax on one of the sun loungers or simply enjoy the peace and quiet of the Salzburg countryside.

Salzburg, Lakes & Nature

Despite its rural setting, the cottage is ideally located for exploring the region.

The historic centre of Salzburg is approximately 20 km away and can usually be reached by car in around 20 minutes outside peak traffic times.

Several beautiful lakes of the Salzburg Lake District are nearby. Obertrumer See, the closest lake, is approximately 10 km or a 10-minute drive away, with swimming and boating opportunities during the warmer months.

This makes Cottage Salzburg an ideal base for combining sightseeing and culture in Salzburg with swimming, hiking, cycling and relaxing days in the countryside.
