Waking up here means opening the windows to terracotta rooftops and catching a glimpse of the river beyond. The apartment is located on Rua de Santo Estêvão, a very narrow pedestrian street in Alfama where cars don’t pass and life moves at its own rhythm.

You’re inside Lisbon’s oldest neighborhood, a maze of cobbled alleys, tiled façades, hidden staircases and golden light at the end of the day. It’s textured, imperfect and deeply atmospheric.

The living room is the heart of the apartment, bright, open and framed by rooftop and river views.

Natural light fills the space throughout the day, creating a calm setting to relax after walking Lisbon’s hills. There’s comfortable seating, a TV, a dining table for two and air conditioning to ensure comfort in warmer months.

It’s practical, but it’s also about the light and the view.

Fully equipped and ready for real use, whether it’s a slow breakfast or a simple dinner at home.

You’ll find a stove and oven, a distinctive SMEG refrigerator, filter coffee machine, kettle, toaster and washing machine. Everything you need for a short city break or a longer stay.

Cozy and calm, with a 140x200cm double bed and generous built-in storage.

Air conditioning ensures year-round comfort, and the space is designed for two guests who want a restful night after full Lisbon days.

• The apartment is located on the 2nd floor of a traditional building without an elevator.
• The street is pedestrian-only and very narrow, with the nearest car access approximately 110 meters away. Alfama is historic and hilly, which is part of its charm.
• The bed is 140cm wide (European standard double).
• During June, Alfama becomes the heart of Lisbon’s Santos Populares celebrations. The neighborhood fills with music, street parties and festive atmosphere, which means increased noise, especially in the evenings. It’s a vibrant and unique experience.

Located in the heart of Alfama, Lisbon’s oldest district, this is where the city reveals its true character. Narrow cobbled streets, tiled façades and hidden staircases create a setting that feels both historic and deeply alive.

Within a short walk, you’ll reach iconic viewpoints such as Miradouro de Santa Luzia and Portas do Sol, as well as the impressive Castelo de São Jorge. Head downhill and you’ll arrive at the banks of the Tagus River, perfect for an evening stroll by the water.

Alfama is filled with traditional restaurants, small local shops and Fado houses. It’s vibrant, authentic and full of personality, a neighborhood to experience, not just to photograph.

Exploring Lisbon from here is easy and mostly done on foot.

The iconic tram stop on Rua das Escolas Gerais is just a 4-minute walk away, connecting you to other historic parts of the city. Santa Apolónia metro and train station is approximately 12 minutes on foot, offering direct links to the airport and other areas of Lisbon. Local bus stops are just 1 minute from the apartment.

Many of Lisbon’s landmarks are within comfortable walking distance. The Lisbon Cathedral (Sé) and São Jorge Castle are around 15 minutes away. Miradouro de Santa Luzia is a 9-minute walk, and the famous Feira da Ladra flea market is just 7 minutes away.

In Alfama, the best way to explore is simply by wandering, the streets themselves are part of the experience.

￫ The property is Self-Catered. Complimentary basic items are provided for your arrival, including first-day toiletries, toilet paper, etc. These items are offered on a welcome basis only - replacements or re-fills are not provided.

￫ Bed and bath linen are provided according to the number of guests confirmed in the reservation. For stays longer than 7 nights, additional bed and bath linen will be provided for free at the check-in.

￫ The Cleaning Fee included in your reservation covers the check-out cleaning only. Extra cleanings or fresh linens can be requested during your stay and are subject to an extra fee - these requests must be done with at least 24 hours in advance.

￫ Check-in time starts at 14:00 and check-out must be done until 11:00(am). Before leaving, please place the keys inside the lockbox. Only one set of keys will be provided.

￫ During the stay, the guest is responsible for the safekeeping and proper use of the property's keys. Please avoid leaving them in the lock or mailbox. In the event that a specialized technician is needed for door opening or in case of damage to the key and/or lock, the costs associated with this service will be the responsibility of the guest. In case of key loss, a penalty will be applied.
