It sits in the Iron Horse North building, in the middle of Northstar Village, a few floors up from the shops, the skating rink, and the gondola plaza, so the distance between your front door and the first chair of the day is measured in steps rather than miles. Inside, the condo runs open and bright. High ceilings keep the living space from feeling like a mountain condo box, a stone fireplace anchors the seating area, and the kitchen sits close enough to the dining table that whoever is cooking stays in the conversation. The deck looks out toward the mountain, which is worth a cup of coffee in the morning and a jacket at night when the Village lights come on below. Both bedrooms are built like primaries. Each holds a king, each has its own ensuite bathroom, and each of those bathrooms has a tub as well as a shower, which is the detail that matters most after a full day in the cold. Two couples can share this place without anyone drawing the short straw, and a family gets a real door between the grown-ups and everyone else.
