About this cottage rental

Welcome to The Porch at Sturgeon Bay, a spacious Lake Michigan cottage designed for long summer days, spectacular sunsets, and memorable Up North getaways with family and friends.

Set along the Lake Michigan shoreline near Cross Village and the iconic Tunnel of Trees, The Porch combines the charm of a classic Northern Michigan cottage with plenty of room to gather. With 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, additional sleeping space, and accommodations for up to 14 guests, it's an ideal home base for multi-generational family vacations, groups of friends, ski weekends, and four-season escapes.

The best part is just outside: your own private Lake Michigan beach and spectacular sunset views. Spend summer days by the water, take the kayaks out, relax on the covered porch, or gather around the beachfront firepit as the sun sets over Lake Michigan.

Inside, each bedroom has its own Northern Michigan-inspired identity:

• The Tunnel of Trees — King bedroom with private en-suite bathroom
• The Mackinac Room — King bedroom with private en-suite bathroom
• The Petoskey Room — King bedroom
• The Blisswood Room — Two queen beds
• The Lodge — Separate TV and hangout space with two twin daybeds and two twin trundles, sleeping up to four

The Petoskey and Blisswood rooms share a full bathroom, while The Boathouse, our main-level powder room, adds an additional half bath.

Gather for meals in the fully equipped kitchen and dining spaces, settle into the main living room with its fireplace and Lake Michigan views, or spread out when everyone wants a little room of their own. Four Smart TVs are located throughout the home, while The Lodge gives kids and teens their own space for movies, games and downtime. Guests will also find board games, books, kids' activities and fitness equipment.

A four-season Northern Michigan escape

While summer on Lake Michigan is hard to beat, The Porch is made to be enjoyed year-round. Explore the Tunnel of Trees, visit nearby Harbor Springs, spend a day on Mackinac Island, hike the Northern Michigan shoreline, or head out for local dining, wineries and scenic drives.

In winter, the cottage makes a cozy home base for skiing and snowboarding at Nub's Nob and The Highlands at Harbor Springs, followed by evenings back at the house with plenty of room for the whole group.

Fall brings spectacular color along M-119 and the Tunnel of Trees, while clear Northern Michigan nights offer incredible stargazing—and, when conditions cooperate, even a chance to see the Northern Lights over Lake Michigan.

Whether you're coming for a week at the lake, a family tradition, a ski weekend, or simply a few quiet days Up North, The Porch at Sturgeon Bay is a place to settle in, slow down, and stay awhile.
