The room was great and in amazing location - It is very close from the stations. We had great room with private bathroom, and it was very comfortable. The place was also clean and the staff was nice. Many had issue with the sound from the bar, but it wasn't really an issue - it was actually nice to fall asleep to :) and they were usually finishing around 11pm, which was also our sleep schedule
I think very minor inconvenience we had was lack of the kettle to make tea/coffee in the room - although for the breakfast they offer free cup, however we wouldn't dare to ask in the evening to not interrupt the jazz shows :)

I didn't know what to expect. I know The Rex pretty well as a drinking spot and music venue but didn't know about the hotel. If you're after the big hotel experience, go elsewhere. This is a very cosy and comfortable place. Bed, dresser, desk, a/c, and, in my room, an ensuite. The location is perfect, right on Queen W, near the subway and a zillion restaurants, bars - including the legendary Horseshoe - and shops. The art gallery is nearby, as is the Eaton Centre and everything else you'd probably want to see in Toronto. Oh yes, there is coffee and toast for guests in the bar in the morning, all served by the friendly bartender.
