We enjoyed the location. We enjoyed the jazz club and restaurant food was a little overpriced but location was great.

I like that it was close to Union Station and we enjoyed the jazz club

Window was open when we came in no screen. Share bathroom. TV was too small.

Charming hotel and bar with lots of character that I would definitely return to when back in the area.

It’s location is in a prime spot. Short distance from most sights to see or activities to do. The live performances are excellent and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Perfect place for a jazz and blues fan!

The hotel and pub have separate entrances which can be initially confusing if you’re not paying attention. The signs indicating as such are well displayed though so no biggie.

hotel which is closed to metro station - just 2 stops from Union station-yellow line

it is closed to metro, about 5 minutes by walk, the staff is very polite and ready to help you, so nice and so kind the jazz music is till 11:00 pm - I was staying in the second floor, there was no noise, you could hear it but it is OK, you can relax, you can sleep

I dislike the breakfast - it starts at 9:30 am and it is only toast from white or brown bread with small containers of jam and peanut butter and coffee, nothing else - it is not a joke, it is not real breakfast you cannot open the window - there is just air condition

Perfect!

During my recent stay at The Rex, I had a meeting at the Sheraton, which conveniently happened to be within walking distance from the hotel. I must say, I found The Rex to be a smart choice in terms of both budget-friendliness and its strategic location. The room I stayed in was cozy and comfortable, providing a pleasant atmosphere throughout my stay. In fact, I have no further complaints or issues to raise about the hotel. Overall, I was highly satisfied with my experience at The Rex.

Love this hotel. Would stay again in a minute!

Can't beat location. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent and good value. Loved listening to live music while having dinner. Staff friendly and helpful. I walk with a cane. I am quite capable but I do very much appreciate the offers of assistance from the staff. The mattress and pillow were very comfortable.

This is my fourth time at the hotel and it was the least "polished"room. However, it was squeaky clean . Arrangement for hanging clothes could have been better. Facial tissues would be appreciated. Although there was a window the air conditioner made it so that you could not see out the window except for a bit of sky.

We would only recommend this hotel too younger people who can handle stairs and travel light.

Right downtown. The room was elementary and rustic, with many stairs and no elevator. As a senior, it was not really suitable. Basic amenities were in the room, and Heavily perfumed cleaning products were used. The storage for any baggage is in the restaurant; if you have to leave before the clerk arrives in the morning, it's a hassle. No one is at the front desk after 11:00 pm.

The Restaurant was okay. Food was barely warm when served. My husband's meal looked burnt; rice and beans served with chicken were mushy. My fish and chips were "warm" when served. The Staff was very lacklustre; several walked past us and never asked if we were okay or been served. It was the Manager was the one to take our initial order. The cost was of average price. Live entertainment was okay.

The location and staff!

Room size and room equipment! We had a very bad night there! The electric heater was turned off in the middle of the night and the room was completely cold! The building was very old! And when I was talking on the phone at night, the next room was banging hard on the wall to shut me up!

The location, the staff and the bar were all great.

I would have preferred a private bathroom, but I did know it was shared when I booked it.

Superb

A great spot if you're looking for a mix of lively atmosphere and comfort in a vibrant part of the city. Something going on in the bar right below at night, but they also wrap up at a reasonable hour (I think around 11-11:20 pm ?) in case you're looking to zzz.

Central location, great music, basic room and comfortable. Good value. Will stay again

Friendliness of staff. Helped with bags up one flight of stairs. Stored bags for free. Gave advice and a map of what to see. Room could adjust temperature. Live music on ground floor.

Room could do with fresh paint. Can hear people walk by it talk outside the door. Not sound proof. Reception area unappealing, cold and lacked any character. Suggest local pictures and a plant.

Very good

I enjoyed my stay at Rex Hotel due to the friendly staff, the location, and the room itself. The room itself was clean with a large bathroom and wildly comfortable bed!

I didn't have anything that I specifically did not like. One receptionist was helpful in advising me on how to get to Niagara Falls which was much appreciated.
