Location, historical history, staff. Decorations
I booked and paid for a 2 room suite and when we arrived we got 2 separate rooms on the same floor but not real close to each other. Also the beds are very u comfortable in both rooms. I realize the furnishings are old Victorian to fit the theme but they need to invest in the quality of the mattresses. Other than that the rooms were nice.

The room was on the Top Floor (4th floor) and it had two windows with views of downtown to east and north. Also the room was one of the dog friendly rooms and the room had a ceiling fan.
The room was small, but to be expected with this old historical hotel.

Proximity to downtown
Stayed in the king suite on the 4th floor facing the street. Room smelled very musty. Single pane windows let all street noise (cars with loud mufflers, Harley Davidson motorcycles that seemed like no mufflers, loud drunken conversations from the bar goers smoking cigarettes outside of the bar…). I stayed on Friday and Saturday nights and there was a live band that played hard rock until midnight. It was so loud that I checked my windows to see if they were open, but they were not.
