The Gananoque Inn

Location was absolutely stunning. Gardens and patios were beautiful. Waterfront seating with amazing views Front desk staff were very friendly. Breakfast was included and very good. Lovely crispy bacon! Free parking close to the entrance.

No fridge in room. Pillows were not good. No blackout blinds or curtain in room so very light when sun comes up in the morning. Tea was like warm water. Vending machines were out of stock.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, for some undisclosed reason the gas had been cut off before we arrived and consequently there was no hot water. The staff was very apologetic and gave us a free room upgrade + $50 off dinner in their restaurant. So all in all it was a good value and I'll probably stay there again.

I stayed in this hotel last year and had superb breakfast on their balcony. This year the dining room wasn't available nor was the balcony and the breakfast in the pub did not come close to my experience last year. The staff, room and property were first class! A very enjoyable stay!

Location, close to town, other restaurants, playhouse, boat cruise, harbor , welcoming lobby and hard working staff ( I saw 4 young men cleaning rooms), a nice historical building, antique furniture and historical documents. The king size bed was comfy with very good pillows and comforter, good reception on the tv ( bathroom was fair as some mold needed removal), free coffee and extra comfy chairs. Walking distance to town, and the playhouse , beautiful property near the harbor.

Front desk clerk , a young man who was just stepping in for that night was not equipped with the knowledge of how to find my paid in full reservation. After showing him proof he made a phone call and we were able to check in. We are in our 70's and they knew I was celebrating a birthday and yet we were still assigned a room on the 3rd floor ( NO ELEVATOR) facing the front street. ( No way to change since the young man at the front desk had no clue how to do it ) Staff at breakfast area were extremely slow to clean off the tables to sit, give us a menu and take our order ( which by the way one was done incorrectly) Their cooks tend to use Pakistani ways of making omelettes so be aware of that. We did not eat in any of their other restaurants. I had requested a mini fridge and it did not work, I had sent a message through booking.com and there was no response. I had yogurt, cheese sticks and half a chicken wrap spoil and one medication that needed refrigeration. The first night the fire alarm went off for about 1 minute and several of us in the rooms around 9 pm came out to see if there was smoke or anyone telling us on the 3rd floor to come down. After it was turned off and we all went back to our rooms , it happened again. So once again we look for anyone telling us this is a serious and real need to evacuate. NOTHING . NOBODY called us and told us ANYTHING about what happened. There is a lack of training in my opinion on what is important to a guest at their hotel. We paid $456 for 2 nights including breakfast . Lastly we had to run the shower literally 5-10 minutes to get hot water. ( maybe since we were on the 3rd floor)
