Never again

Horrible hotel! Our car broke down owner was told a neighbor was coming for my family members in about an hour. I stayed the night as the shop could not have it ready until tomorrow (high five Meineke 469 Rothesay Ave Saint John, NB that review to follow) had our 3 dogs again staying for an hour. Site advertising pets, he was told we had the dogs when his giant ridge back dog came out in the office. It was funny at the time he said I'm sitting for my son it's his dog. I said oh boy at least you can hand her back we are stranded with our pups from a beach trip. Asked the front desk where we could grab dinner and some toiletries. He advised Sobeys was a 5 min walk. No air conditioner, Asked for a fan. Said no rush I'm setting out to walk to grab some dinner ill get it on the way back. Owner tried to enter our room After We said we would go for dinner. Luckily we had a family member in the room as we were walking. The owner called my phone several times, my hands were full as I was walking with a child and food. The place he said to go was on a busy street with no sidewalks. When approached I was told we cannot have guests, when I said I explained you our situation. Why is there a sign in the room saying guests out by 11? He said he can enter the room anytime, it's not an apartment. Burn marks in the comforter Dead bolts don't work. Advertised ocean view definitely not. I was not expecting the ritz But I was certainly expecting someone to listen when we shared our situation. I was also not expecting entering the room without asking. I wish I could share the audio I had recorded on here. The front desk worker kept trying to say oh I didn't understand. Well you understood when you were taking my money. I have since called booking.com to make a complaint, I will be sending them the recording. DO NOT STAY HERE

Nice location/ view and could take my dog.

Had basic double room. The door lock was not very secure. It was very small room the bed filled the room not enough space around the bed to lay and open up suitcase. The decor was very dated although clean. None of the pictures for hotel show the room style / decor in our room. Although non smoking it did smell of cigarette smoke

beautiful view of the ocean and ferries and wonderful management who gave me a special deal price

management gave me a special price and they have bedrooms with kitchenette. Overall good motel for people with low income or modest means. Paranomic view of the ocean and you can see ferries; great view to wakeup too and the table faces the ocean.

Never again

Place was clean and bed comfortable-- that ends it

Had to be a mountain goat to walk a dog. Insisted I needed a larger room than the one I had booked for which there was no need. Threatened to call police if I took smaller room and brought a dog in. Canada is not a police state but everything was met with a call to police. Will not ever recommend this establishment. Been traveling with my dogs for over 30 years and never so rudely treated. If you say pet friendly than make sure the site states which rooms are available and if there is a pet fee. Also no air conditioner, no phone, no smoke detector in room

Warm ,friendly ocean view , kind of renovated motel

The mananger Lokush was trying his best to provide as comfort for the guests as he could,so did other staff.

Place was a little far from my work.

We had a room with 2 beds for the same price like a room with 1 bed.

The room was very cold. We was waiting about 2 hours for getting a portable heater.

Better to spend you money elsewhere. Nice owner, terrible motel.

The owner was great and explained the challenges he has with the property, he has my sympathy.

the room was old and beat up yet a sign out front claimed newly renovated rooms. There was no ability to control the heat and no A/C. The only temperature control was opening and closing the windows. The cable TV and wifi were spotty, usually in the morning. No coffee maker, no shampoo and the toilet went nuts every time someone in the hotel flushed. This property should be rated lower than it was.

The entrance and lower levels have a steep grade so people need to be cautious.

Exceptional

We stayed here the night before catching the ferry to Nova Scotia. It was a nice clean room. The decor is dated however it was a place to lay my head. It is an 8 minute drive to the Ferry in the morning. The staff was super friendly and they made us feel safe. The only down fall was there was no air conditioning, but we slept with the window open. I would come here again.

Owner very pleasant and responsive. Beds were excellent. Equipped for delivered meals.

Would have liked grab bars in washroom. For longer stay, car is needed to get to shopping places.

It was good for what I needed.

The clerk was very nice and friendly. The bed was excellent. The view was fantastic. The price was very good. The tv was a nice flat screen on the wall. There was extra bedding available. There were actual glass tumbler instead of plastic ones.

There was no wifi. The room was simple and dated, but very adequate. The tv remote wouldn't adjust the volume on the tv. I would have liked to turn it down.
