The location by the water was perfect. The room was comfortable, clean, & roomy. Breakfast at the restaurant nearby was delicious. All in all a great stay.

Unfortunately the art gallery connected with the inn was closed.

The location was excellent for exploring the Cabot Trail. I loved the breakfast setup at the Freight Shed and the breakfasts were wonderful. The accommodations were very comfortable.

Perfect location to explore Baddeck and the Cabot Trail. Very close to some nice restaurants by the water. Good value for money and easy parking. Will definitely be back.

quaint inn with great location, view of harbour, close to restaurants in town. our room had a balcony overlooking harbour. lots of parking. comfortable room. staff at reception was very helpful. restaurant at inn was closed but we were provided with a voucher for excellent nearby restaurant for breakfast.

wifi occasionally worked and cellular was also difficult in the area. stairs may be challenging for some people.

We couldn't ask for better accommodations in Baddeck. The Water's Edge was right down in the harbor area, but only one block from the downtown area. The rooms were clean and beautifully appointed, and the beds were very comfortable. A full breakfast was included in the room rate, which was served at a restaurant just a block from the hotel. We could choose what we wanted on the menu, up to $20 value, and everything on the menu was creative and delicious. The manager (Bill?) was super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel in Baddeck.

There really wasn't anything we didn't like.

We booked a superior king room with sofa bed and lake view for 3 people (2 adults and one 12 yrs old). The reservation confirmed that breakfast was included, which we assumed was for all if us. When we checked in, we were informed that breakfast was not onsite and were handed a stack of vouchers to be used at a restaurant a few doors down. Ok, no problem. In th morning, we grab our vouchers only to realize that we only have 2 breakfast vouchers per day (they are dated). On our way to breakfast, we saw the girl who works the front desk and we mention the oversight. She says there was no error and that the owner had told her to give only two vouchers per day. She pointed out that the vouchers were for $20 each. The problem: the pricing at the restaurant makes it impossible to buy breakfast for more than one person, even if you forgo luxuries like coffee or juice. Then we learned that the restaurant is owned by the same couple who own the inn. At breakfast we asked to speak to the owner and he said that our reservation is based on double occupancy so we get only 2 vouchers. I told him that we booked the room for 3 people and we paid extra for the third person, and he said the extra charge was for the third person to use the sofa bed, but the room is still based on double occupancy. He said he didn't know why "they" did that. I asked to whom he was referring and he said "the owners." He was acting as if he didn't know who the owners were and dodging our questions. Very odd and very unprofessional. The room itself was clean, but dated. The view was a letdown. Our room had a balcony and was across the street from a busy harbour with lots of little boats. It was kind of pretty, but I would hardly call it a view. The chairs on the balcony were metal, and very uncomfortable. All in all, the fact that the owner was so unpleasant and dodgy makes the experience much less enjoyable. I would not stay here again, nor would I recommend this place.

Kinder, honest owners, an accurate listing for the room. The property can use some renovation, and definitely some landscaping and cosmetic touches (hide the extension cords, pull the weeds, clean up outside.)

If you were older or frail, our room had many stairs leading up to it. we were a bit surprised to not have onsite breakfast but we were given a breakfast coupon for a restaurant nearby (within easy walking distance) came with a lovely waterfront view a delicious food.
