Exceptional

The host was super. The room we had had everything. The bed was super comfortable. The town is very near with shops, restaurants and beach.

A private retreat space, great for one person to relax after the beach or in my case, work :)

Karen is a lovely hostess and the property is quiet despite being on the highway. It's walking distance to a beautiful beach, and the private patio was my favourite part. Cozy, comfortable and clean.

I was hoping there would be a hot plate/stove when a kitchenette was advertised; however there was a microwave and toaster oven along with a coffee maker. Even so, it was wonderful!

Superb

Karen was an excellent nd friendly host and provided answers to all our questions. The location is very close (walking distance) to the best beach in the world and to an old growth forest. A little town is interesting too. Well worth the visit. We will return next year. The weather was fantastic.

Comfortable, clean, and quiet. Just right! I had been to Columbia Beach (along Yambury Road) before.

I made my own, and the fridge and microwave and kettle were all I needed, except perhaps for a bowl and plate. I had my own utensils, a bowl, and I used the platter in the microwave as a plate.

Room is comfortable and rather roomy, equipped with kitchen items, mini refrigerator, toaster oven and microwave. Kitchen table is a good size and overlooking nice front garden.

Mattress is too soft.

Much better than staying in a hotel room for 4 nights.

The location is perfect for making short trips to area attractions. The bed is very comfy. The room is very large with a sitting area and small table with chairs. Fridge, microwave, toaster oven, and plates, cutlery, cups, glasses, etc are supplied so you can really make yourself at home.

There is a coffee maker and kettle, but no coffee or tea bags supplied. A Keurig would be a good replacement for the coffee maker. Also, our room was accessed by a steep flight of stairs that may be difficult for some. There are two ground level rooms on the property though.

Room was very comfortable. It had everything we required. Karen was very gracious and helpful. Location was good. Close to beach and a nice walk to town. Quiet.

Restful place to reflect and connect.

Close walk to the beach and trails to town. Karen was lovely! Cozy nook and loved the day bed for reading and snoozing. Would highly recommend!

Pleasant and comfortable for our needs.

Location. Parking. Suitable for short stay. Typical cooking and eating amenities for short stay. Allowed pets!

Extra fee for second person when amenities, towels etc no different. Could understand if breakfast included. Not sure where extra expense comes in with two people? Same bed, same number of towels and hygiene products. But the benefit of no pet fee balances out. 🙂 the fee was nominal so not that big of a deal just doesn’t compute for me.

The quietness of the accommodation and nearness to the beaches

The location was excellent - could travel easily to the place we wanted to and had excellent accommodation as far as comfort and facilities to use.

I have nothing to say against this place we loved the privacy and the quietness of the accommodation as well

Good value

Very quiet location. A lovely comfortable bed. Very walkable to the centre, but also the #97 transit bus runs close by, once an hour. I liked Karen the host very much.

The women was very nice. It was quiet and clean. Everything worked.

Because of COVID - no breakfast items and no household cleaning - a simple work around would be to provide coffee supplies and breakfast items in advance this didn’t happen.

Stayed for 4 nights. Would stay again but the 2 of us would each take a separate room.

I liked that this room was bigger with more amenities than a regular hotel room. It was quite and private. It was funky in a old hippie sort of way, like staying at a friend's home.

I slept on the twin bed and it was not very comfortable. The toaster oven set off the fire alarm. Small dorm fridge. no real freezer. Did not make ice very well.

The property was in a quiet location even though right off the highway so great location as easy to get to nearby Parksville and a quick 5 min drive to downtown Qualicum. We stayed in the Patio Suite which had lots of space for the two of us and the owner has thought of everything.

Nothing really. If I had anything negative to say it was because we are on the bottom floor you hear the neighbour above walking around.

Host was very friendly & helpful. Liked our private area where we could sit outside with umbrella, table, chairs & eat our food.

For one of us the bed was too soft.

Awesome place!

Karen is very welcoming and the room was excellent. Comfortable bed, spacious, quiet. The microwave, fridge, toaster oven and some kitchenware enable you to make a some meals. I’d love to return one day!!

Great place for dogs a beach lovers

The Patio Room at Nautical Tigh is a solid choice for the budget-conscious traveller with or without a dog. Our old pooch enjoyed the easy access to the patio. The room is absolutely spotless. You could not tell that there has ever been a dog inside. No hair, no odours. The room is well appointed with everything you’ll need including kitchen supplies, a hairdryer, robes, beach towels and folding chairs. It is a low-cost option so guests should know that there are a few compromises. The bed is not great for two. The memory foam topper tries to upgrade it but just makes it more saggy. I opted to sleep on the futon sofa and was comfortable. Traffic noise can be bothersome while on the patio. The patio has a nice table with umbrella but could use a good clean up. Planter boxes were sad and the patio abuts the driveway where there was a large pile of mulch on a tarp. The gardens and yard need work. That said, the location is great, the host lovely and the stay worth every penny. So glad we found somewhere willing to welcome our dog and provide a comfortable place for my husband to smoke.
