Relaxing gorgeous view

The location was excellent and the lady who checked us in was super nice ! The view was beautiful!!

The walls had coffee spilled down them so perhaps washing the walls more often is important

Dated room with little privacy

The location was nice and offered a good view over the bay. It was also within walking distance of the centre of the city.

The room felt very dated and like it hasn't originally been a bedroom in the first place but had been covered into one. The bathroom was cramped and there were areas where I could see the bare concrete under the floor tiling, the ceiling was very low, there was only one dim light to light the entire room and it did a very poor job. I was also able to hear the footsteps of the guests above my room. My main issue is that the door to the room had a large window but nothing to cover the window to stop light from getting in or people looking in. There was some plastic covering stuck to the window which covered the bottom three quarters of the window, but there was still a large uncovered section at the top that let light in and which people could look through without much effort if they wanted to. I ended up having to fashion a makeshift blind using a towel and some duct tape. As a result I didn't feel like I had any privacy when I was in the room which I think is a very basic thing for a hotel room to provide.

no bedside lamp. $1 for a cup of coffee. no grab handle in the bathtub. room was very small.

Passable

not impressed with the television at all. No network service and only on demand programming. There were no instructions in the room on how to use the television - and the staff that came to explain was quite unsure.

Fantastic view of the ocean from the balcony ☺️

The beds are not that comfy. Very squeaky even for slightest movement. No basic cooking condiments :(

nothing fancy but clean and reasonably price we would stay again next time we are in town.

Upgraded us to the top floor with beautiful view. Clean rooms easy access and the family was wonderful

HORRIBLE Custom Service

Good view

HORRIBLE Custom Service experience you could ever get. A person at the reception yelling at customers is not the kind of place we would want to spend weekend with your family. Not recomended for families. Maybe good for wrestling professionals who are willing get into a tussle.

I have been staying at above the tide for the past 20 years. Good location, clean rooms, reasonable rates. It is an older motel and the years are beginning to show...

I was surprised to find I didn't have to sign for the room or show proof of my booking, I had also booked a room with only one bed, they only have a couple of these rooms and have always enjoyed the room below the office. They claimed they had upgraded me to a room with 2beds on the second floor.

Great ocean views and an older property well cared for.

I chose the Above Tide Motel due to it's closeness to the hospital and it's inexpensiveness. I knew the property was a budget friendly one, and the room did seem old. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the room was and by how well appointed it was. I had everything I needed for a 2 night stay. Microwave, keurig, fridge, wifi, and lots of lighting in all the right places. I was on the ground floor with a queen sized bed. A small room, perfect for one person. But the best part was the little grassy area right out my front door - 2 lounge chairs directly overlooking the ocean. I watched plenty of ships pass by and heard sea lions barking at night. I really enjoyed my stay!

The bathroom was very very tiny. OK for one person though.

Meh, ok in a pinch, but will try to stay elsewhere in the future.

Beautiful view, decent pricing in peak season, but you really don't get much.

The parking lot is so small and overfull. Takes forever to make the 16 point turn you need to get out. For the cost of repairing all the chips and door dings - you may as well stay at a different place with a proper lot. The units look clean and tidy but doesn't feel that way. The beds are probably the cleanest thing in the unit, the rest of the space is plagued with sticky surfaces and shower walls had soap scum from last guest. Bathrooms are simple. Bring your own toiletries, goodness! Cheap, awful offerings of pitiful soap and 2 in 1 shampoo slime. There is no overarching administration system - making this not the best option for work travel. I would book through booking. Com and keep the receipt - they give you NO paperwork or itemized receipt on site! The security in the rooms is disappointing, especially for solo travelers. Guests are givin one physical key. The doors have one deadbolt, and staff or anyone with a staff key can open and access your room at any time. There is NO WAY TO LOCK or SECURE THE DOOR FULLY WHEN YOU ARE IN THE UNIT. Beware and bring a secondary device for this purpose. Good thing the motel is close to town, there are no services, no restaurant, no anything. It's a place to sleep. That's all.

Was Nice 30 Years ago. Won`t be back again!!

The Location

Fridge Freezer was useless. No Ice Machine. Had to go out and buy a bag. Only a couple rooms had Outdoor chairs and no BBQ. Very Unfriendly to smokers not offering a view from the back. Room was old with dim lighting.
