This location La Quinta has been my go to place since last year and I always liked the staff, everyone was nice and handled things professionally. The bed was comfy especially the pillows and spacious room. I liked that the tv had different channels and I liked the amount of towels and a free makeup wipe on the sink. The breakfast is good, I like the breakfast here compared to other La Quintas because Carlsbad/Legoland location has more food choices. I like that the gym now too because it is 24 hours and it was clean.
I understand that the price is more expensive because it was during the long weekend, but because of the price I did notice things I did not like in the deluxe king room. I did not like that the shower area, where they hang the curtain was damaged and dented down, so the curtains would not close all the way to both sides. The soap bottle was empty and the drain in the shower did not go down well, so I was showering with water puddle above my feet. The AC unit only half side was working, so it was hot in the beginning, but once I lowered it to around 65 degrees and waited couple of hours it started to cool down. The wifi kept kicking my boyfriend and I out every 30 min to an hour on our phones which was frustrating. The next night we got back, the keycard did not work to get into my room, but luckily front desk was able to fix the issue. I was confused with what I read at the information paper where it said "Housekeeping is provided every third day. If you prefer service sooner, please notify us the morning of." Since I stayed for 2 nights, I did not expect any housekeeping, but they still came and cleaned the room each day. I do not mind that the room was cleaned and it was nice since we got more towels, a made bed, etc, but I was surprised. I should have put "Do not Disturb" sign for the whole trip if I known it was going to be everyday instead of the third day.
