Friendly staff with lots of helpful information. Room very comfortable and bigger than expected. Relaxing nice views of the marsh and Shem Creek. The boardwalk was a nice surprise. It was our first time staying in Shem Creek (usually staying in downtown Charleston) before dropping our son at The Citadel. We would definitely stay here again.

Close to everything. We had a room with a balcony that faced Shem Creek. It was great. The beds were comfortable. I forgot my pillow at home. Their pillows are comfortable. The AC was cold. The grab and go breakfast worked out great. The staff was very attentive to our questions and needs. I met the General Manager, Gray, and he was just as authentic as if I’d known him my entire life. The boardwalk to the marsh, which ran adjacent to Shem Creek, was peaceful and relaxing. Can’t wait to go back.

Breakfast was convenient. Just grab and go mainly. Not really any hot food items
Hotel is old and needs refurbishment. Beds aren’t that comfy. Bathrooms were tiny with weird plastic tile drop ceilings. Location is great though…watching the boats at Shem creek was fun! They just need to tear this place down and build a new one on the existing site. Also, for the cost I expected the room to be nicer. There are key pad doors to get in to your room. No key cards so it’s inconvenient to have to keep up with remembering the code.
