It was a comfortable, quiet room, with a nice balcony which was a nice place to sit in the morning and drink coffee. The bathroom was good sized. The bed was comfortable.
It was not made clear where the pool was located. I did not appreciate the $20/night (less than 18hrs) parking fee (I would rather pay more for the room and not have that little "surprise surcharge" when I checked in). I understand taking a credit card number for incidentals/security, but charging my card $150 (which will presumably be refunded in "7-10 days") was not appreciated. Kind of a "sleazy motel" move (I think most customers are not going to damage the rooms or cause an issue leading to $150 in damage to the room.

Great location for Avenue del mar, walk to the beach in 15-20mins, and trolley stop one block away. Good sized room and lovely little balcony (useful for drying wet beach stuff) . Staff excellent.
Had to sign out pool towels. Numerous broken pool loungers and not the clearest water. Freeway is adjacent, didn’t hear from room facing sea but very loud at point. No breakfast which for the price is disappointing but makes up for it with location. About to introduce extra fee for parking

The location is great for exploring Del Mar street, San Clemente beach and pier. Super close to great restaurants, coffee shops, and bakeries.
The property was going through a sale and was understaffed - overnight plumbing issue wasn’t dealt with until the following day. The pool area looked unkept, aging equipment.
