The location is great - easy and quick to get into downtown Charleston, although that must be by car. My room with extra living room space was quiet and I was able to use the extra sofa bed one night when my daughter came to stay with me. Plenty of free parking. A fully equipped kitchen that I did not use.
The breakfast was OK, but about the same as a place in Charleston that I stayed previously, which was much cheaper. Decor throughout is somewhat drab.

Okay!
I didn't like that there was no ice machines on the property because there were refrigerators in the room
When you arrive the ice makers are not on. Front desk will give you a small bag of ice.
During our overnight stay, the ice maker may have made 20 very small ice cubes. This was a deal breaker for me.
I will never stay at a Residence Inn or sister property again.
P.S. Many travelers have ice coolers and need ice to continue their journey.

the room was close to an alternative exit that gave us quick access to the parking lot
Apart from grits and oats, the vegetarian breakfast was mainly packaged food since the waffle maker was broken and there were no breakfast potatoes in any shape or form
The bathroom did not have an exhaust! kitchen was also partially equipped with no toaster
