The decor, the location, and the staff were my favorite part. The art on the walls was way better than usual hotel art of like fruit and stuff which was a nice touch. The decor was all old style stuff which fit with the historic gold rush theme of the downtown area but it was tasteful and well maintained. The sink was also really deep which I know is an odd thing to care about but a lot of places don’t make their sinks deep enough for some reason. The location was also incredibly nice. It was right between several good bars and at least one dance club type establishment. The bar attached to the hotel so much fun! The bar tender made my drinks very well and the atmosphere was so fun. It was also down hill from them or on the same level so if you had a bit too many you won’t need to worry about walking up a hill to get back to bed. The staff were so helpful and let me put my bags there while I waited to check in and after I checked out. They also went above and beyond by letting me check in a little early.
The toilet and shower being located outside the room in the hall was different than I’m used to but it wasn’t that big a deal. I had a similar set up in college and in some hostels in Europe. Everything was clean and I hardly ever needed it while someone else was using it.

I loved the vintage coffee bar and the feel of the whole place. I felt like I was in a 1930 movie.
The walls are pretty thin, take the ear plugs at the front desk that are free!

The staff at the hotel was exceptional. They went above and beyond to ensure I had a pleasant stay. The location is incredible. You are only a few moments away from walking to any restaurant, shopping, tourist destination in the downtown Juneau area. Local community was great.
The building is historic and reflects its age, so bear that in mind. If you like historic buildings with character this will add value to your experience.
