Clean, comfortable, free breakfast (unexpected as it wasn't listed as having this but they told us when we checked in so a nice surprise), great value for money, very friendly staff. Had a microwave and kitchenette in the room which was a bonus although we didnt use ours. For what you pay for it has everything you need really, and I'm say very clean on the whole. Would come back, so highly recommend.
Our face towels were dirty, but there's an abundance of towels and the rest were all very clean, we just used tissue for our face instead so I put this down to an anomaly/exception as the place itself was really clean, especially the bathroom. The inly other very minor things I would say but again very minor is I felt silly that I had to call front desk as I couldn't figure out how to stop the water coming from the spout and make it come from the shower head, it's not a normal lever on the top of the tap/spout and my partner couldn't figure it out either as it's not like one's we've used anywhere else in the world we've travelled to; it's underneath the spout where the water comes out and you have to pull it down. The gentleman at the front desk kindly came up and showed me rather than give instructions on the phone (very simple in the end) but maybe some basic instructions would help unassuming guests and save them time from having to come up to the room.

The location is excellent for those who need an accommodation in Lubbock's medical district. The beds are also fairly modern and clean.
There were major lapses in communication. For one, I requested an accommodation: a room on the first floor. As it turns out, this property does not have any rooms on the first floor. Why did they agree to the request if they couldn't honor it? Secondly, even though I pre-paid at the time of booking, they demanded I pay them an additional $100 "deposit". I've never had to do that at a hotel. That was extremely sketchy and made me want to leave right then and there, but I did not have time to find another accommodation. I suspect they are probably not allowed to do that under Booking.com's terms of service. Also, the room (216) had some issues, including an AC/Heater unit that NEVER shut off, even when I switched it to "off", and it kept making bizarre noises. It was very distracting and kept me awake when I was trying to sleep.
