Had reservations two months prior but due to the July 17th flood had to cancel. Rescheduled for 9/11-13. It's wonderful to see that they are up and running. Love the rustic charm of the hotel lobby. The people are very helpful.

The staff was pleasant. The response to our call for an iron that was in working order was quickly met. The bathroom and bed looked and felt clean. Its location was right for our purposes.
The room's smell wasn't pleasant. I don't like false perfume smells, but clean smells are welcomed. The light in a dark part of the room didn't work. My husband found a large cockroach crawling across the bathroom threshold after I'd heard what I suspected was a mouse. There was a large gap under the balcony door which may be how the bug got into the room. The hotel was grand in its day, but is in need of general refreshing, a landscape spruce-up, and more tender loving care throughout. The grounds have many weeds in the rock gardens and "grass." It wasn't hard to imagine what a wonderful place it once was, but it has fallen from its former glory.
