The location of this hotel is everything. Walking distance to the beach is the main reason we picked this hotel. I knew going in that the room we were staying in was on the "motel" part of the hotel so I wasn't taken aback when I saw it. The room was a wee bit dark but it was a good size and the AC kept us comfy. We had been warned about the potential for noise with the bar next door, but it was never an issue. The cleaning staff were super friendly and did a great job tidying and refreshing us with towels.
Almost everyone we interacted with, was great. However, the woman who checked us in (apparently she is the voice of metro), was extremely rude. From start to finish, she was abrasive. We could have let that experience go, but towards the end of the interaction, she threw the keys and card across the counter at me. When I started to say thank you (our room was available before the standard check in time, so I was very surprised and appreciative), she immediately cut me off and said "Good Bye". This interaction really took me off guard and it's shocking to me that this abrupt person is actually a manager. After seeing the promotional video on the tv in the room, I wondered what we had done wrong to be treated so poorly. Needless to say, I was relieved we didn't need to interact with her again. Everyone else was so thoughtful and kind and the breakfast was great. We had a great time but that one experience really left an impression on me. I know everyone has bad days, but the rudeness was off the charts.

Great staff and particularly appreciated the adult only space in the morning since this is a very family-friendly place. The beach chairs and the shuttle to Dewey Beach is also a plus.
Loud air conditioner and bathroom could use a refresh. Otherwise all was good!

Location
The bar next door too noisy which we knew in advance. The street noise was also loud after 10pm
