Room was not ready until after 3. We arrived before 11 and went to beach for a few hours as we knew room would not be ready for many hours. Please book people with kids together in buiding. 2 nights in a row we were woken up by families trying to get settled for the night. Been there done that and now want to relax!!!

Overall, our stay was okay, and there were some highlights—the breakfast was excellent, especially the made-to-order omelet bar, which was one of the best parts of our visit.

I think future guests should be aware that we were told upon arrival that parking is an additional cost per day. We both heard the receptionist say $50 per day, but looking at the other reviews, perhaps (hopefully) we both misheard her. This came as an unpleasant surprise, especially since several nearby hotels (including those directly next to and across from this property) offer complimentary parking for their guests. We ended up using the Lewes Transit Center, which offers free overnight parking and a convenient shuttle to Rehoboth Beach for only $2 per person each way. It was an easy and more affordable option. When we checked in, the parking charge appeared to be automatically added to our bill. We let the front desk know that we planned to park elsewhere and asked for it to be removed. While they did remove the charge, the manager made a point of telling us that they regularly check the parking lot for valid parking passes, which felt like an unnecessary implication that we might try to park on the property without paying. One of the people working at the front desk seemed to noticably dislike us throughout our stay. She gave us the room key but did not give us any directions for how to get to our room. We ended up taking the elevator and getting lost with all of our luggage. When I returned to the front desk to ask where our room was, she ignored me for a little bit before she asked if she could help me. I asked a question at check-out and although her colleague was helping me, she stepped away from the desk sighing while her co-worker assisted me. The interaction was noticeable enough that someone from the office came out and asked, "Is everything okay?" The other front desk employee was very kind, welcoming, and helpful. In the future, I'll choose a beach hotel that includes free parking and has a more inclusive, "everyone is welcome here" approach to hospitality.
