needs updating and modernization

beautiful location!

property is in disrepair. it is not luxury by any stretch of the imagination. dining was pretty awful.

Views were amazing. Room was nice and big.

They shut down water (hot and cold) and electricity without any advance notice. It was 0 degrees outside. When I called reception deck and they finally picked up (took at least 15 min) they said I could take shower in a gym if I wanted to. Gym is located 2 buildings away from the room we stayed in. Restaurant service was really bad as well. We booked dinner, and ended up waiting for 60 minutes for our dishes. They didn’t seem busy, neither they mentioned that kitchen had issues or warned us about possible delays. Could have been exceptional situation but no, then we went to same restaurant for breakfast (it is the only one there so what choice did we have?), and ended up waiting same 60 minutes for eggs 🙈

Nice, relaxing, cozy

breakfast good. room comfy and enjoyed hiking the trails

I think it shows a certain lack of respect and tackiness to dress the animal heads in Christmas decorations and hats. Disturbing to me. A microwave would be nice for warming coffee. Also, suggest that the lodge provide half n half in an insulated carafe instead of those little plastic creamers

The room at Mt Garder was lovely, fireplace was a nice touch considering that was quite cold last night.

Everything great except unexpected construction noise.

Love location and keep coming back. Glad staff lit fireplace in main lobby and had fire lit in small lounge on way to dining. Nice to have cold water and coffee in lobby. Friendly staff.

Pneumatic nail gun construction noise right outside our room from afternoon arrival till at least 6pm when we left to get away. It began again just after 8 AM. Deeply disappointing when we came for rest and had no warning of construction.

Had a great time. Have always wanted to stay here.

The grounds were well maintained. It was an odd weekend, in that the air quality was soo bad, with the local fires. So we did not do alot of the activities that we planned. Horseback riding was awesome and of course the pool for the grandkids!

a little disappointed in the menu for meals. we ordered the kids tray 2 days in a row. The main course, the meat was spiced for an adult. I had to cut off the pepper and seasonings off the steak and then wash the shrimp.] otherwise good meals.

Beautiful getaway in the mountains

The highlight of our stay was absolutely the beautiful balcony overlooking the mountains we watched the sunset and listened to the birds it was absolutely gorgeous

Made service for the room was not consistent. They cleaned our room once but never again. Even after we asked a couple times.

My room #102, was teeming with flying things and I don't like flying things. It took me several hours to hunt and attempt to kill the flying things only to discover that when I got in the shower, I did not kill them all and then when I went to bed, there were even more flying things that I had not killed. It took me half the night searching for these things before I could go to sleep. Not the type of evening that I expected at this price point.

The views/food and staff were exceptional

The lodge seems outdated and in need of repairs. The hot tub was green ans The surrounding gardens needed a lot of work. I think for the cost I had higher expectations of the lodge

I would highly recommend Sun Mountain Inn to anyone that would be in the Cascade Mt. Area.

We loved the room and the view. The accommodations were exceptional. The pool, hot tub, and fitness room were close by. Walking trails were nice to have. The proximity to the Mountains and a small town like Winthrop made Sun Mountain and excellent venue.

There was nothing that we could think of.

Wished Dining room was open for dinner on week nights even with the bar menu. The bar is Over busy and cramped!!!

A restful stay after a long day in the North Cascades.

Really enjoyed the signed nature trail. The information on the signs was informative and the views were picturesque.

hiking trails and views from the room were great but at the cost the room was a big !!

Loved the views from the room and the outdoors space and hiking trails.

we didn't get our room made up and cleaned after the first night (we did have the sign on the door to make up the room) when we left for a hike. There were a lot of moths flying around in the bathroom and 2 earwigs in the bed. the shower gel contained was empty, and bottom of the bathtub looked dirty.

Would love to come back to this amazing retreat.

The lodge is updated to meet todays needs. The bathroom is remodeled and very nice. The whole lodge is very clean and very calming and nice atmosphere. The pictures do not do justice to this excellent place. Nice size pool and the area around it. The lunch and dinner food was excellent and very nice (I like that the menu had options, unlike everything fried). The lodge is built to if you need anything it is there and very relaxing

The pool needs to be cleaned more, and offering drinks (where no glass should be served) and light lunch would be very lovely. The breakfast service and food was horrible (that was so dissapointing since everything was exceptional), get rid of the buffet option and bring out a menu and ordering service instead. Also wifi services could have been better

This is a very special spot about 10 miles atop a mountain outside of Winthrop.

There was a wedding which made parking challenging and broke the serenity.

25 year since last visit

Beautiful setting with great views of valley and surrounding. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

A little hard for my 95 year old mother with lots of steps for the best restaurant window seats, but she made it just fine.

The view.

The room had a mosquito infestation, never saw one outside,but always had at least three or four in the bathroom. Had a strange order. We found a dead rabbit in the small pool, when we told the front desk, they didn't even apologize. We left right after we showered. Didn't finish our stay. WE LOST WHAT WAS THE REST OF OUR TIME THERE, My husband threw up three times. On the way home.

Rooms and location are beautiful.

Restaurant staff are horrible. They walk around like they don't want to be there, do not refill beverages, didn't bring appetizer and still tried to charge us for it. Food not so good and overpriced.

Relaxing and uplifting!!

Location, having the pool & hot tub as it was very hot. The trails.

Pool had a lot of debri in it every day. It was never cleaned out. Breakfast buffet didn't offer much choice. Very limited for the price. that was very disappointing. For the price I would have expected a choice of meats, cheeses, salmon etc

Totally enjoyable experience!

The menu at the bar was exceptional, especially the cheese plate. The view, the service, the weather... couldn't have been better!
