The location is absolutely the best if you want to view and experience the Soo Locks and Sault Ste, Marie. You can literally walk 25 yards to the locks park and viewing stand. It's a little far but we also walked to the Valley Camp Ship museum, the Famous Soo Locks Boat Tours and Tower of History locations. (Basically all together in the same general area.)
The motel itself is older, but they've done a nice job modernizing it. Staff was nice.
The motel is a little noisy, but not a deal breaker. To be fair, they did offer earplugs at the front desk if it was too much. The sound of the freighters transiting the locks didn't bother us, it was the thin walls and the noise from the restaurant next door. They offer cottages that are a little further back on the property that might be a little quieter. We'll probably try those next time.

It’s right downtown as close to the locks as you can get.
It’s showing its age and needs a bit of a reboot. Rooms are tired.
