I gave it a 5 star for location - we loved watching the freighters from the back porch. However, upon arriving and being excited to watch a freighter going through, we had to clean that back porch because it was FILTHY. It needs a good deep clean and the furniture needs a power washing. I moved the furniture a little to clean and it was chuck full of dried leaves underneath. The cushions and furniture had lots of bird poop and sticky tree droppings and cushions were mildewy. Grass had not been mowed but clippings from previous mow were all over the patio and had to be swept away. The inside of the house was pretty clean, other than some stains on carpet and sofa, and the shower needs a deep clean - it had previous guest's hair in drain. I don't mean to be negative, just a few easy fixes and this place could be a 5 star. On the positive side, there were lots of towels and linens, beds were comfortable and it has 2 bathrooms. They also provide several spices and pantry items including plastic storage bags and containers. They are not skimpy on paper products either. We appreciate being able to stay and would recommend if you are ok with the above issues.

Welcoming home on the river. Comfortable beds, enjoyed being right on the river. 2 long ships passed by while we were there. Nice to have laundry and full kitchen. Only stayed one night on our trip around Lake Superior. If we had stayed longer would have tried the sauna and back yard amenities. Would stay again if in the area.

Amenities were not working. Sucked for me. 5 hour ride, mother with dementia. Looked forward to that sauna.
