Location convenient to downtown & jogging path (Galloway Canal), access to kitchen, pleasant staff.
The coffee in the room and kitchen (but I admit I’m very picky). Some of the pillows were quite hard. No elevator.

State Street Motel was a gem from when we arrived til when we left. The lady who checked us in was friendly, chatting with us about her dogs as she went through everything and then directed us to the numerous of snacks available for us to take up with us. The 50s aesthetics were gorgeous but never at the expense of making it a comfortable experience. When remodeling it, they took the time to think of simple things that probably don't cost a lot but make a world of difference in soothing out the small annoyances you never quite notice. For example, the over the bed light had cool and warm white light options - something so rarely done. There were several small tables and chairs tucked away all over the property, giving plenty of opportunity of staying in but not having to sit in a hotel room. Doors were open via code that you select when checking in - no accidentally locking yourself outside! And while there is no hot breakfast, the snacks included multiple options that would work for a simple breakfast. It really was one of the best experiences we'd had and if we're ever in the area, will definitely be our first choice.

Friendly helpful staff, beds very comfortable, the towels were excellent quality! Older motel that is taken care of, nice to have outside door entrance and back your car up to your door to park.Dog friendly and has pet area with grass. We stayed here 1 night on 2 week road trip and State Sreet Motel and one other motel were the Best on our road trip, both were older motels. We even stayed at a best Western 200 dollars a night on this road trip and beds and towels were far better at State Sreet Motel. We will return in the future on a road trip. Thanks
