Basma Hotel Aswan

This was honestly the best hotel we stayed at during our trip around Egypt, after travelling through several different cities. What we loved most was the atmosphere. Coming back to the hotel after a full day of sightseeing and spending some time by the pool was such a lovely way to relax. The whole pool area has a wonderful chilled-out atmosphere, and it really became our little place to switch off at the end of each day. But above everything else, what really made our stay special was the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, attentive and welcoming. We particularly want to thank the reception team, who made us feel genuinely welcome every single time we came in or went out of the hotel. One member of the team even gave us a small personal gift, which was such a lovely and unexpected gesture. Unfortunately, he wasn't at reception when we left, so we didn't have the chance to say goodbye and thank him personally, but we really appreciated both the gesture and, most importantly, how welcome he made us feel. We did have an issue with noise in our original room and, as soon as we mentioned it, the team immediately offered to move us and even gave us an upgrade. This really wasn't necessary, as we already loved the room category we had booked, but it shows how much the staff cared about making sure we were happy and comfortable. Breakfast was also excellent, with a very good buffet and plenty of variety. I'm vegetarian and had plenty to eat. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would absolutely recommend the Basma Hotel to anyone visiting Aswan. If we return to Aswan, we would happily stay here again.

The only real issue we experienced was some noise from air-conditioning compressors/equipment affecting certain rooms. However, once we mentioned it, the staff dealt with the situation immediately and couldn't have been more helpful. I'm sure this is something the hotel can address to prevent it from affecting future guests. As a very minor suggestion, being vegetarian, I would have loved to see a plant-based milk option such as oat, soy or almond milk at breakfast. This certainly didn't detract from the quality or variety of the breakfast, though, which was otherwise excellent. Neither of these points would stop us from staying here again or recommending the hotel

Beautiful property situated on the highest point in the city. I had a great view of the Nile and the mountains from my room.

The rooms are a bit outdated and the hallways are quite warm, but I didn’t dislike the property. It was nice overall.

The hotel is beautiful with a nice area to see the sunset and a nice pool . Reham from guess services made our stay special she arrange taxis for us and was always available to answer any questions a true gem. Within walking distance to the Nubian museum.

Very friendly and accommodating staff include fabulous manager. Food & drink excellent value and tasty for the money.

Some tired interior. Very noisy air conditioning cooling on floor 5 which can be heard from areas nearby including bedroom I was moved from. No management of noisy quests who allowed children to run noisily around the pool past midnight. A sculpture park next door is being worked on from 0730 approx till 7pm. Lots of noise to rooms facing carpark and front/side of property.
