El Granado Hostel

I fell in love with this hostel. Just as time seems to flow so gracefully in the Alhambra Palace—like water gliding over marble—I experienced a similar feeling here. It was as if the tranquility of Granada had seeped into every corner of the hostel. The old but spacious windows of the rooms make you feel like you are part of the street outside. Fresh air was always right beside me. I don’t know how much someone expecting a more modern place would enjoy this hostel. Personally, I love that sense of “belonging somewhere” that nostalgia can evoke, and I definitely experienced that here in every possible way. I came to understand, through my own experience, why the hostel’s regular guests—and people who occasionally return from other countries to stay here again—feel such a strong attachment to this place. I had some wonderful conversations with a few of them, and somehow, at some point in those conversations, the hostel itself would always become part of the story. That is why writing about the hostel’s facilities somehow feels beside the point. It is very rare for the relationship between time and place to affect a person so deeply, and that is the side of this hostel I wanted to write about. Eventually, our paths had to part. But I believe that somehow, life will bring me back to this place where time seems to pass so slowly. I hope I will be here again someday, and I know that returning will make me as happy as seeing a dear old friend after a long time apart. If I ever have the chance to come back, I will definitely stay much longer. Thank you for everything.

Extremely cool building and location, right in a part of the city where you can easily walk to all the main spots or get tapas / food. Entire staff were amazing and extremely cool and welcoming, and so were the guests! Easy way to meet a whole lot of fun and like minded people. Would definitely recommend and plan to hopefully stay again one day!

Everyone was so nice and everything was clean. It was easy to check in and there are a lot of activites organized with the hostel so it’s awesome!

Excellent location, my floor had two bathrooms. One with two showers and a stall but one private as wells bidet, toilet, enclosed shower, sink, shelves. Staff was incredibly friendly, rooftop bar was amazing, 10/10!
