The location is lovely. We had breakfast and dinner sitting in the garden overlooking the Seine. Sitting in the garden in the evening is wonderful watching the sun set.

Villa Aliénor opens onto the Seine at historic Les Andelys. It’s a busy place with attentive hosts. The room was comfortable and the food delicious. We had secure storage of our bikes.

The location.
A lack of generosity on the part of the owner. Certainly not prepared to put herself out.
Small portions and high prices.
A commercial attitude as opposed to a demonstrated pleasure in hosting. Why work in the hospitality business?
