What a fantastic oasis in Montpellier, hosted by the very lovely Maria! You enter through an unassuming garage door and into a courtyard area with fruit trees, outdoor eating and refreshing pool (deep too!). After a hot day of traveling and/or touring, this property is a delight. Family style breakfast in the morning is welcoming, and you get a chance to meet the other guests. The A/C in the room is fantastic along with the bed. We had a garden room on the bottom floor and often just had the screen door closed and enjoyed the shady breeze off the courtyard area. The table and chairs on the patio made for evening wine-downs perfect for a good night's rest. Our family of three walked 8min from the train station with all our luggage. Easy. There is a tram 5min walk away or 10min and you are at the start of the heart of Montpellier. With the hot weather, we found taking the tram into the deeper parts of the city the way to go and enjoy a cooler walk back to the property in the evening. I can't say enough about Maria! What a great host and I hope we cross paths with her around the world someday soon.
With a six-year-old and rollaway bed, the room was understandably on the smaller side, but we didn't spend much time in the room with the pool and gardens right outside. I look forward to coming back here without the kid and enjoying a couple's long weekend away.

The host is amazing. She even let us have a late night swim after our train was delayed and we had to walk in the heat.
The bathroom is shared but that is clearly labeled on the listing.

Everything really. Welcoming, courtyard and pool, the room and the AC. Cute house cat. Lovely landlady offered a packed breakfast for my early morning train.
