I had multiple great stays at Chelitos during my time in Cusco, the owners are so lovely and accommodating and it was great being able to leave some stuff with them while I went and did the Salkantay and Ausangate trek.

The hosts are amazing, even though they only speak Spanish, they are warm and available when needed. Great room, comfortable bed and warm bedding. HOT WATER!!! Highly recommend this place.

Comfortable dorm. Friendly woman at the hostel.
The worst check-in I've experienced. I was first overcharged then taken to an 8 to 10-bed dorm when I booked a 3-bed, with my actual room not ready. They wouldn't let me use the single bed even though it was free and insisted I took the top bunk. First impressions were very unfriendly.
There was no soap in the bathroom or washing up liquid in the kitchen, and the kitchen was dirty (it was later cleaner with washing up liquid added). I arrived at night and was ready to leave already.
Things in the dorm were confusingly moved around, for example I couldn't find my sandals but they were in someone else's locker and their food in mine.
The shower was cold and open to the outdoors, with nowhere to get warm.
People smoked outside the rooms so that stink came inside.
The plug sockets in the room didn't work well and took lots of fiddling with.
