The location was perfect! Lots of good food options within walking distance. Bus stop right outside. Felt very safe even as a female travelling alone. The atmosphere of the entire hostel is very relaxing and the setting is beautiful. I loved sitting in the courtyard and eating my meals. The rooftop terrace was wonderful to spend some time on at the end of the day. Beautiful views. I really felt like a family member thanks to the incredibly welcoming and kind staff. Check out was 11am and I still had a decent amount of time so I used the free locker to store my luggage in while I went out for lunch. It was exceptionally clean. I chose to make my own meals and found the kitchen very functional and clean. The 24 hour front desk was very convenient, especially for a late check-in like mine.
For my first hostel experience, I really got lucky. This isn’t your typical young traveller party hostel and that was a major requirement for me. There’s still lots of fun to be had, while still having a quiet space to sleep and stay asleep. And speaking of sleep I found my bed extremely comfortable.
As my experiences in Oaxaca have been fairly noisy, I was blown away at how quiet Don Pablo was.
I am already looking to book here again.
It would be great to have some sort of discount for longer stays. To my knowledge the fee is the same for a few nights as it is for 2+ weeks.

This rambling old structure was full of charm and period details. With a terrace, reading room and game room it was a chill place to relax in any season. The staff was exceptionally friendly and the location was great. The room was spacious and comfortable. I particularly appreciated the coffee-maker.
I don't watch TV on holiday so it's absence didn't bother me.
