Equipped with all modern comforts, easily reached from Rome Airports and Railway Stations, it is at walking distance to the metro, public transports and other facilities, making it an excellent starting point to visit Rome’s unique masterpieces of art and history Perfect for families, romantic getaways or friends, it represents a perfect solution to make your stay in the Eternal City pleasant and relaxed. Our attention to details and warm welcome will contribute to make your stay unforgettable The flat consists of a large living/dining area with a fully fitted kitchen, two bedrooms (one double and one single – the latter with the possibility to add an extra bed to suit the need for a twin or a second double) and a bathroom with shower. It is equipped with independent heating, washing machine, TV, fridge, oven, kettle and hair drier To make your stay more enjoyable I have personally selected a range of information and useful addresses. On your arrival you will be given useful tips, divided by touristic area, regarding: typical “trattorie”, restaurants, pizzerias, bars, ice cream shops, wine bar, etc., that, by our experience, can help in making your stay unforgettable. From 2019, in the living room was installed a 12.000 BTU A/C device able to cool the whole apartment. In addition, in summer, you'll find electric an in every bedroom. At your arrival you will find a food welcome kit (pasta, tomato sauce, oil, salt, sugar, coffee, tea, biscuits), so you will have time to organize yourself in the best way, in one of the close supermarkets. Also available in the hygienic products and detergents, as well as a kit for first aid. You will be welcomed personally by me and I will provide all the necessary information even on public transport, the attractions of the neighborhood, the advice for pleasant walks in the city center. This way you can give your holiday a very customized impression and experience Rome The apartment is 5 min walking from the metro station "Colosseo" (Line B) and a short walk from the bus stops that allow you to easily and quickly reach the main attractions and the most famous shopping areas. The area is safe and is characterized by the presence of numerous green areas ideal for jogging and with playground. Among them: Villa Celimontana, Colle Oppio park and Terme di Caracalla area Strolling around the ancient and suggestive borough Celio, you will be captured by some of the most important monuments and churches of Rome: Coliseum, Forum, S. Clemente, SS. Quattro Coronati or just relaxing in one of the many typical “osteria romanesca” where you will be able to taste the real roman cuisine, pizzerias, wine bars, pubs, ice cream shops. Our 1st time at a VRBO was fantastic. The host, Marco, organized our airport-to-apartment transportation, checked us in, provided details about the apartment, and even gave us a map highlighting key attractions in the area. I accidentally locked myself out of the apartment on New Year's Eve at 8 o'clock at night, leaving my family stranded. Marco generously traveled 30 minutes each way to let us back in, and he didn't charge us for the assistance. Our time in Rome was truly delightful. We loved the apartment's location and, in particular, cherished the personal touch of renting someone's place—adding to our overall experience.

This apartment is very well located near historical sites, restaurants, grocery store and taxis. Marco the host was great. He provided us with directions and information which made our trip more enjoyable. He also made arrangements for a driver to take us to the port.

Wonderful apartment in the heart of Rome. 2 blocks from the coliseum. On the non touristy side of the coliseum. Easy to find delicious affordable restaurants. Safe little neighborhood.
Marco was extremely responsive right from the first email. From the reservation to the checkin and check out.
We were there for 4 days and he checked in a couple of times to see if we needed anything.
Unit had two nice bedrooms and a sitting room. Kitchen has everything you need. Nice shower and washing machine. Pictures shown are accurate.
Marco was the perfect host. He met us on arrival and check out, explained the keys, gas stove, washing machine and getting around the neighbourhood.
Marco allowed us to drop our luggage earlier than checkin so we could get to a tour on time.
Marco arranged a driver from the port and then to the airport for us. Giovanni the driver was on time and a fair rate. (Transport can be tricky)
He has a binder in the suite, that explains getting around by bus, metro, restaurants, grocery etc. We quickly found our favorite pizza/ focaccia by the slice spot, gelato, cafes and restaurants in no time.

Marco left us a bowl of fresh fruit upon arrival. It was so unexpected, delicious and appreciated. The local oranges are fantastic!

Amazing location to everything. Very comfortable place to call home as myself and my kids aged 22 and 26 explored Rome for 4 days. Marco gave us so many recommendations and the binder with information was very helpful. Totally recommend.

Lovely, secure location. Cute and clean apartment. Excellent communication. Only a block from the Colosseum but not in a loud area. Lots of nearby restaurants and 24 hour grocery. Would stay again.

This property was perfect for us. Cleanliness and readiness was exceptional. Communication with host Marco could not have been any better and he went above and beyond to assist us in our first trip to Rome. I would highly recommend this property. Availability of air conditioning was a great benefit on this trip as we coincided with quite an extreme heat wave.

We had a short few days in Rome and found this cute little place. It was super convenient to the Colosseum and other sites. Marco, our host, was so helpful and even helped us get a taxi the day we left. We were a little disappointed with the lack of views. It was a ground floor apartment. We didn’t stay inside much so that wasn’t a huge issue. I would definitely recommend Marco as your Rome host.

We have been to Rome several times but this time we brought our two grandsons, ages 15 and 12 for their first trip abroad. The apartment was wonderful. My husband had sprained his knee before we left and was using a can so luckily there were only 3 stairs before entering the apartment. It was perfect for the 4 of us and had everything we needed. It was extremely clean and very comfortable We would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to friends. It is close to everything and the #81 bus stops just at the end of the block and we were able to get around Rome very well from there. We could not have wished for more.

Great location, bus stop right outside, metro, grocery store and colosseum just a few mins away. Marco was a wonderful host, answering all my questions before and during the stay and providing lots of useful information. We even had a cooking class in the apartment with his chef friend, learning to cook Italian style. It was one of the highlights of our stay!

Thanks to Marco and Antonella for renting us this apartment! This truly was our home away from home. It had everything we ever needed for our week's stay. The location was convenient. Close to the metro, buses, and there is a taxi stand around the corner. We are hoping to return soon, as we did throw a few coins in the Trevi. When we do, we will definitely stay at Il Nido al Coloseo.

Fabulous stay in a lovely apartment and great location
We had a fantastic stay in Rome. The apartment was perfect, and although very near the Colosseum still in an area that had its own character and was quiet (apart from very occasional late night noise from the Camden Town pub!). Everything was so convenient with shops and restaurants close by. But what made it extra special was the attention to detail from Marco the owner of the apartment. He was so helpful before we arrived - helping us to find a birthday semi-freddo cake for our daughter's 18th as well as sending through useful information about what to see and how to get to the apartment. The information in the apartment was so helpful - we tried three of the restaurant recommendations and they were all great plus we did the 2km walk around the area seeing the beautiful church of St Clemente, the Quattro Coranati convent and many other sights. We walked everywhere - a highlight was walking to St. Peters and arriving at 8.30 in the glorious sunshine, as well as appreciating the Colosseum at all times of the day and going up to the rooftop terrace at night for the view. I can highly recommend the Il Nido, and thank Marco for all his kindness and attention, and would definitely return.

Excellent in every way!
Perfect location behind the Coliseum, steps from the Metro and taxi stand. This apartment is very clean, quiet and safe and perfectly equipped. Marco made dinner reservations for us, and arranged transportation. This is a terrific value in a fun neighborhood. Would definitely stay here again. A hidden jewel.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Marco is very pleasant, helpful and responded quickly. We loved the location. The beds were comfortable. Rome can get hectic so it was really nice to stop back at the flat for a few hours to relax out of the heat. Essential amenities are all close by.

Location can’t be beat!
Marco was extremely helpful and accommodating. Our flight was very delayed and wound up getting in early in the morning. He kept in touch with us all the while and was there waiting when we arrived. The location of this property is fantastic. My 13 yo son was gobsmacked when we rounded the corner and the Colosseum was RIGHT THERE!

Perfect nest for Rome
The pictures online had me a little nervous, but it was excellent when we got there. Building was quiet and neighborhood is safe with police, grocery stores and restaurants all close. Ideal for a couple and our 15 yr old to have his own room and unlimited wifi. Our luggage was lost for 3 days and superhost Marco went above and beyond to help us by making calls in Italian to the airport for us, and letting us ask 100 questions. Walking distance to everything..9 days was exactly right. Don't forget to try Uber Black..same price and better cars and service than taxi. Ciao from Canada

Excellent location, excellent apartment
We can't say enough positive things about this flat and Marco, the owner. The flat is on the ground floor (we've rented many that were a trek up flights of stairs), and charming. The beds are comfortable with quality linens. The kitchen is fully equipped and we used it most evenings for dinner. The location is ideal, close to a metro stop and bus stops and convenient to grocery markets and small restaurants. And walking by the Colosseum every day is incredible! Marco arranged for a driver to meet us at the airport and return us after our two week visit. Marco met us at the flat when we arrived and explained the appliances, keys & locks, and local shops, etc. He contacted us during our stay with updates about weather and a potential strike and other information. He even left us a special treat for our wedding anniversary. If we return to Rome (one can hope!), we will always want to stay at "Il nido al Colosseo."

Great location!
We had a great time in Rome! The apartment was in the perfect location from attractions. Great supermarket was a short walk away as were many non-touristy restaurants. Marco was very hospitable. We would recommend staying here. Great value. Vinnie, John and Liz from New Jersey, USA.

A great hideaway to return to each night after the often chaotic atmosphete of Rome.
The apartment was clean, well appointed and most of all convenient. The owner, Marco, was a real gentleman and responded quickly and thoroughly to every request, no matter how minor. The apartment is a 5 minute walk to the Coliseum but tucked away in a great little oasis of a neighborhood, close to wonderful trattorias, pasticherias and enotecas. A tremendous place from which to base a stay in Rome.

Il Nido was perfect
Our family of four adults stayed here for our dream holiday - visiting all the ancient wonders of Rome. Marco was so helpful and the flat was perfect - comfortable, clean and with enough space and equipment to relax after a long day sightseeing. On top of all that ..... the position - really convenient for all our trips (we walked almost everywhere) and we loved walking around the Colosseum after dark. Altogether, a wonderful week and a brilliant place to stay.

We loved the cozy apartment which was located perfectly for our week stay. Easily can walk to everything and apartment had everything we needed . Marco is wonderful and even helped us book cabs when we needed one . You will be very happy to stay here .

Clean and fabulously located
We were so pleased with Marco and his apartment. He was there to greet us at a late hour and stayed to show us around the apartment and to review a map. There was coffee to make as well as milk and fruit. There was ingredients for spaghetti too (we didn't use). We walked each morning to the Bar (cafe) around the corner before heading out on the 5 minute walk to the Coliseum.
We have already recommended this apartment to friends and will use again if we go back to Rome.

Pleasant stay in a great area
The flat is well presented and has everything you might need while on holiday, and the best part of all is that the location! It just can't be beat. There are loads of shops, bars and restaurants near the flat and it is pretty central for public transport which is easy to navigate or you could ask Marco, who is very friendly and helpful. He is on hand if you need him, but also provides lots of information in the flat so you can make your way around the city easily.

perfect Roman holiday
I can’t say enough about Marco. He did everything he could to make our stay pleasant. We arrived on St Patrick ’s Day and the apartment is across the street from a Irish pub so he gave us a welcome present of ear plugs which were unnecessary. Marco gave us great resources including list of restaurants, directions to market, and maps. When my parents were sick on our last day and our flight was not leaving until 9pm he had others checking in so he spent 20 min calling hotels to find a day room for us and then called the cab.
Now for the apartment Marco arranged the second bedroom for a double bed and the property worked perfectly for 2 couples. The location was perfect. It was around the corner from the colosseum, three blocks from the metro station, and the taxi stand was 1 block away. The apartment was very clean and well maintained.

Great location and homely feel
We booked this apartment due to it's location to the Coliseum and it certainly didn't disappoint. We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids (11 and 9)) and the apartment certainly was large enough for us, for the time we were in it.
We had great communication with Marco prior to arriving and he meet us at the apartment, great for after a long flight. He showed us around the apartment and provided us with some pasta and basic food which was well appreciated. With a supermarket nearby, access to the metro and buses, very short distance to the Coliseum, and a number of restaurants and gelati shops nearby, we cannot recommend it more!

Great location, quiet, clean & safe
Property was in a great location, just around the corner from the Colosseum & less than a 10 minute walk to the FAO building. Although there is a bar across the road, it was quiet (maybe because it's September) and never interrupted by sleep or my baby’s. There are 4 steps in the hallway, which are very manageable with a pushchair.
The apartment was very hot, hotter than outside at night, but the fans were powerful so kept the room cooler. I would have opened the windows at night, but there was no mosquito grid/net/blinds on the windows. If there were, it would have been perfect.
The apartment is traditional, old style, a little worn, but very clean. The bedroom smells a little musty, but it must be in the walls, because everything was very clean.
Although we didn't cook, only using the gas hob once or twice, the kitchen is fully equipped and I'd imagine you'd have no problem cooking a family meal.
There are lots of delicious restaurants near the apartment, and 2 medium sized supermarkets close by, as well as a smaller shop.
Marco was an excellent host; he waited for us, despite our late arrival, helped with the bags, explained how to use everything in the apartment, and had some essentials in the fridge to take us through until morning. He had plenty of information available on local attractions and kept in constant communication before our arrival. He arrived promptly for our leaving and had a taxi booked to take us to the airport.
The apartment is not luxury accommodation, but this is reflected in the price. It is great value and in a great location. I stayed with my mother and 1 year old baby. I would recommend it for value and location. I would stay again.
