Little Sea Sparkle is a deceptively large 2 bedroom holiday apartment in Mumbles, occupying the ground floor of a grand Victorian house, overlooking the sea and is just perfect for couples wishing to relax and take time away together. It has a lovely tiered garden with wide stretching views over the bay and to the valleys beyond and a charming walled courtyard where you can relax and dine alfresco. Sitting in a slightly elevated position. A mere 300 yard hop skip and a jump and you're strolling the promenade. To the left lies the city of Swansea, to the right continues the glorious Gower peninsular coastline and coastal path. The apartment. As you enter, it immediately envelopes you in a great, big, warm Welsh cwtch (cuddle) and we feel privileged to own this lovely, light filled apartment in the very heart of the quirky, bustling Mumbles village. Its a perfect retreat, summer or winter, for couples wanting to get away and relax. Its a cosy, romantic hideaway with privacy, space, comfort and many little extra luxuries. The apartment was lovingly renovated and brought back to life in 2015/16, with quality being of great importance. Everything has been finished to a very high standard with luxury fixtures and fittings added. Little Sea Sparkle lends itself nicely to being an adults only space, therefore a lot of thought and much attention to detail has gone into the renovation. You can choose from one of the two prettily decorated bedrooms, each with a king size bed and plenty of wardrobe and draw space. The bedroom to the rear of the property has an en suite with a powerful walk in shower and has its own access to the garden. It is decorated in a fresh, coastal theme, capturing the very essence of the area. Crisp white bed linen and towels are provided, along with toweling robes for use during your stay and complimentary slippers and toiletries. The second bedroom, equally attractive, decorated in restful pale blues, looks out onto the pretty courtyard. The stylish bathroom has a contemporary bath with chrome feet and a powerful over bath shower with an abundance of hot water. The kitchen, overlooking the courtyard, is the heart of the apartment and the morning light streams in through the charming shutter covered window. It is modern and up to date with all new appliances, gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer, microwave etc. However the kitchen reflects the period of the property and retains some of the Victorian elements, such as high ceilings and deep window recesses. A lovely kitchen to cook in if you decide to dine in and take advantage of the wonderful Gower produce on sale in season, visit the local fishmonger or if you are sampling some of the goodies you have found if you have visited the farmers market (second Saturday of every month). The hallway leads to bedroom two and the lovely high ceilinged, light filled, lounge. The floor to ceiling windows look to the front of the property over the sweeping bay, towards Swansea Marina and the sometimes snow capped mountains in the distance. The decor is pale and has a restful feel and the furniture very comfortable. When wandering through the shops in Mumbles you may see decorative slate signs which say 'the English cuddle, but the Welsh cwtch'. Well, here is the place, to kick off your shoes, enjoy your glass of wine and cwtch on the comfy sofas. Read, listen to music, take time to talk or watch a good film, with the lights of the bay twinkling in the distance. When you arrive at Little sea Sparkle, you enter the graveled courtyard. To the left, takes you to the tiered garden. From this elevated position you have a good view of the bay and the near five mile sweep of the prom to the city of Swansea. The courtyard and garden has sheltered seating and dining areas to relax and enjoy in. The garden has been planted with a selection of coastal grasses and colorful seasonal plants. All in all, I would describe Little Sea Sparkle as a mix of traditional, with a touch of modern, eclectic seaside. Its a Victorian home, melding with 21st century modern facilities, with a strong focus on romantic, cosy, comfort. Whether you choose to abandon the car, kick off your shoes and relax. Or put on your walking boots and walk the cliffs of the incredible Gower coastline, Little Sea Sparkle is your perfect retreat summer or winter.

The prperty was exactly as advertised, but more so. It was possibly the very best of that type of accomodation that we have ever stayed at. Katherine & Mike made us feel at home right from the start with nothing being too much trouble for them. If you book a short break or holiday at Little Sea Sparkle I can assure you, you will not be dissapointed. If I could give it six stars I would.

We found Little Sea Sparkle to be ideal for our exploration of the Gower Peninsular. The property was well located in Mumbles with everything just several minutes walk away. The property was very comfortable and we had everything we needed. Katherine was a delight to deal with, she was extremely helpful and thorough. We'd certainly have no hesitation whatsover in recommending Little Sea Sparkle.

Beautiful property which is more spacious than we had anticipated. We loved having a bathroom each! High end fixtures & fitting (as can be seen from photos). A pretty tiered garden with lots of seating. Inside & out felt extremely private & secluded - a proper little hideaway! Location was perfect as easy access drive in to Swansea and on to Gower & only a short stroll to Mumbles & the seafront. Lovely eateries in Mumbles and fabulous days out exploring the peninsula. We like to keep fit so joined LC2 in Swansea which has excellent gym facilities & a nice spa. Also a really impressive waterpark but it was school holidays so we gave it a swerve! ;D The owners were superb in their communication & made us feel very welcome & relaxed. We won’t hesitate to return to this little gem of a holiday home in the future!

We’ve had a lovely time in this beautiful, comfortable, spotlessly clean, and well equipped apartment. Great location, five mins from the beach, good restaurants, bars ,shops and supermarkets. Pretty garden with garden furniture. Very nice, thoughtful host. We can’t wait to return!

A clean, beautifully presented property - a pleasure to visit
King size beds were very comfortable and linen of good quality. Bedrooms had sufficient storage, and plenty of electrical sockets. Both bathrooms were to a high spec. and the kitchen was very well equipped. The lounge was large, with comfy sofas and Netflix on the TV (a welcome addition) - there was a lovely view of the nearby church and the sea could be seen from the bay window. Very pleased with owner's communication and they were VERY helpful. Overall, I would highly recommend.

A hidden gem!
Little sea sparkle was everything we wished for and more. It was the perfect retreat. Beautifully decorated, comfy bed, very clean and fully equipped kitchen. Great location with everything within walking distance. Katherine and Michael were great hosts, we didn't meet them but they were very helpful and communication was excellent from start to finish. Would definitely recommend. Many thanks.

Our Week at Little Sea Sparkle
We’ve just returned home after a great week staying at Little Sea Sparkle in Mumbles. As first time visitors to The Gower we found it ideally located as it is only a short walk to get to the sea front and shops/restaurants and all the lovely beaches and attractions of The Gower are a short drive away. The property was perfect for a couple. It is furnished to a high standard and has everything you could possibly need in a self catering property together with thoughtful extras such as picnic blankets. The property was well maintained and very clean on arrival. Outside there are three seating areas and from the top of the garden you can sit having a drink with a lovely view of the bay. We didn’t meet Katherine and Michael due to COVID-19 restrictions, but they were great friendly hosts. Communications were good and they were easily contactable and responsive, although we didn’t have any need. The only thing to be aware of, which wasn’t a great problem, is that you can’t park directly outside the property as it is on a narrow road with no room for another car to pass, so you have to unload/load quickly and hope another car doesn’t come. It was more of a problem for us as we had taken bikes and had to take the bike rack on and off to leave it in the private garden. There is off road parking in a garage, but this is up the hill at the end of the garden and it didn’t have doors, so we couldn’t leave the bike rack in there securely. Perfect Gower getaway
After months of working through lockdown we were ready for some relaxation at the coast and Little Sea Sparkle was the perfect place to unwind. Katherine is a very helpful, friendly and informative host, rightly proud of their beautiful property. Despite some necessary changes to arrival and leaving times due to covid-19 extra sanitation regulations, the apartment was bright and welcoming, and we were immediately at home. A quiet bedroom with big comfy bed, new sparkling bathroom with powerful shower, extremely well-equipped kitchen with a big table and comfy sofas in a lounge with a beautiful view were everything we needed. Not to mention the lovely garden with its own glimpse of the bay. Mumbles and The Gower offer a long promemade around the Bay, fabulous coastal walks, huge sandy beaches - all good for the soul! There are some quality shops and cafes (try The Front Room), pubs and restaurants were still closed during our stay but thanks to the local M&S, Co-op and takeaways, we ate in the garden most evenings. With its top quality fixtures, thoughtful attention to detail and friendly communication, Little Sea Sparkle gave us a perfect home from home in a lovely area.

Perfect
Everything at Little Sea Sparkle was excellent. Cleanliness is very important to me and this is one of the few places I have stayed in that have met my high standards. Quality soaps and shower gel in the bathrooms and plenty of kitchen products provided. Very useful welcome basket provided with bread , milk and butter and much more. We had to leave early due to corona virus lock down but we hope to return soon.

The greeting on the chalk board was lovely touch. Great places to eat. Fantastic beaches & coastal walks with lots to do in Swansea. Would highly recommend the Mumbles & this property. Fantastic - Apartment the best we have stayed in - everything has been thought of - Kathrine was very friendly and helpful. We have had 5 days of sunshine and 1 day off torrential rain but as we were in such a lovely apartment we were not too upset.

Fabulous property well worth the price. Weather was appalling but it didn’t matter as the property is so warm and comfortable it was no hardship to stay indoors and when the rain stopped it was easy to walk to the local amenities. Slight hitch booking, for some reason when paying , twice it came up that “cannot take payment at the moment “ which resulted in my trying again and again. The owners of the property, however ended up with three requests from me but a quick email to them sorted the problem. Don’t know why this should have happened??!! Overall though the info on website was easy to navigate and descriptions of the property accurate.

Delightful
Our first stay at Little Sea Sparkle and we will be back! A lovely cosy, comfortable and immaculate apartment which had everything we needed, including the garage which is a rarity in the village where it's mostly on-street parking. The garden is lovely and we even managed to sit out a couple of days between showers, or as Katherine said 'downpours'! The apartment and garden are a peaceful haven in Oystermouth and just a short walk from restaurants, pubs and shops. Given that we were so close to everything, we didn't expect the apartment to be so quiet, it was lovely.
Oyster Warfe, just down the road, is new to us and has restaurants and a very convenient Coop.
LSS is well placed for exploring the local area and some of the Gower bays on foot: we walked from the apartment to Limeslade along the back roads and then onto Langland, on the coast path. As it had begun to rain, rather than head for Caswell we decided to do a smaller circular walk and headed up from Rotherslade to Five Ways and down Newton Road for lunch before heading back. We were a bit damp and cold when we got in, so put the heating on to warm up which didn't take long - the heating system is very efficient and the apartment was very cosy within half an hour!
Katherine was lovely and very welcoming and helpful. The welcome pack was great and we found a couple of lovely surprises in the fridge which we enjoyed on our first evening!

Superb!
Just returned from a lovely week in The Mumbles. Little Sea Sparkle was a perfect getaway, the wonderful hosts had thought of everything, including a much appreciated welcome pack on arrival (and beer in the fridge!) and they popped by briefly the following morning to make sure we had settled in and found everything okay. The apartment had everything we could wish for and was to a very high spec with some lovely little touches. And having bathroom robes and slippers available was very plush! Although the weather was mixed we did get to enjoy some time in the lovely garden and particularly enjoyed sitting in the courtyard area for an evening drink. The lounge was also a nice place to relax in during the evenings and has lovely views of the local church and seafront beyond. The garage was a real bonus - whilst up the top of the road, with so many local residents having to make do with street parking it felt a real luxury! The Mumbles itself has a large number of restaurants and pubs (several offering local ales) and we made good use of the wonderful coastal path. It was a wonderful week and we can't recommend Little Sea Sparkle highly enough - if we could lift the apartment up and take it to all the other places in the UK we still want to visit we certainly would! However as we can't do that we will just have to make a return visit to The Mumbles!

A gorgeous place to stay
As soon as you open the door you realise you have entered a property designed and looked after with loving care. Every eventuality is catered for, so nice to find a beer in the fridge and a Gin and Tonic, quite apart from the thoughtful welcome hamper. You will feel at home straight away and enjoy the tasteful décor, the comfortable bedrooms, lovely showers in the bathrooms and a lounge which encourages you to relax and enjoy your surroundings. Overall a lovely experience.
