Location was excellent most things were in walking distance and public transport could be accessed easily. The room was quaint, spacious and clean in a quiet street.
Access to the room was via a very steep set of stairs, so not practical for people with mobility issues. The breakfast was nice but limited for vegetarian or vegans.

Really nice apartment in the centre of Palma. Location couldn’t be better. The design was nice and the flat had all it needed.
The design, the fact that it was spacious and clean, the fact that the bed was made every day, the lovely reception team and their responsiveness. One of the few places in Mallorca that was fairly priced.

I was initially drawn to Canavall because of its beautiful interiors, boutique charm, and central location in Palma's Old Town. The property has lovely architectural details and is conveniently located for exploring the city on foot. Aesthetically, it's a beautiful establishment.
Unfortunately, my overall experience was rather disappointing, particularly as I chose Canavall to celebrate my 40th birthday.
I was assigned Room 1 on the ground floor, directly adjacent to an alley where several homeless individuals were sleeping. As a solo female traveler, I honestly didn't feel safe or comfortable returning to my room after sunset. Although I understand the hotel cannot control its surroundings, I would have appreciated knowing about this beforehand.
My second concern was the receptionist, Daniela, whom I found abrupt, impatient, and at times rather condescending. She cut me off on several occasions and made me feel belittled when I asked a simple question about where to leave my key for an early checkout.
What I found particularly strange was our interaction on my birthday. When I approached reception to pay my tourist tax, Daniela offered me a hug. I politely declined, explaining that I had somewhere to be. Rather than respecting my response, she repeatedly questioned why I didn't want a hug and whether she had said or done something wrong. I found the interaction unnecessarily uncomfortable, especially since I had simply wanted to pay my bill and receive my receipt.
I was also surprised by the lack of thoughtful attention surrounding my milestone birthday. Aside from a text message sent after I contacted the property about arranging a taxi, there was little acknowledgment of the occasion.
I've stayed at many boutique properties, and to me, genuine hospitality comes down to professionalism, consistency, and attention to detail. Unfortunately, I felt Canavall fell short in these respects.
It's a shame because the property itself is lovely, but beautiful interiors can only go so far when the hospitality doesn't match. I wouldn't return or recommend it to other solo female travelers.Beautiful property, but disappointing hospitality and safety concerns as a solo female traveler.
