My room was fine though a safe and a non-tinted mirror would have been great. The breakfast was quite limited and unenterprising but the staff were lovely and I enjoyed chatting to them.
My room wasn't cleaned one night out of 5. A lift would have been great especially as my room was on the 3rd floor. I didn't like it that there wasn't any fresh fruit available for breakfast.

The quirky oldness, good basic food
We booked room 16 which has a separate bathroom across the hall. Very small bathroom with a DIY feel. Little ventilation in the room. Wooden beds creaked awfully.

As always I love the ambience of this hotel. A beautiful building, no lifts, no TV, lovely creaky staircase.
I had an early train to catch and the waiter serving breakfast was very helpful.
