Positives
There was a good selection of continental breakfast, with clean sheets and fresh towels. I also appreciated having extra bedding available in the wardrobe.
The staff were friendly, and although I had to wait a little to check in, it wasn’t too long as the gentleman was busy serving in the bar. The door code and everything I needed were explained clearly.
The location is great, within walking distance of the beach. There is also a pub nearby, and I was reassured that if there were any noise issues, I could let the staff know.
The room had lovely, thick blackout curtains, which were a nice touch.
Negatives / Areas for improvement
I felt a little more attention to detail was needed with cleanliness. The standing lamp in my room was quite dusty, which was noticeable.
The bathroom also had a very strong smell of bleach.and musty smell
Only one of the windows in the bedroom was working. As parking was one of the reasons I chose the accommodation, I was disappointed to find the parking area was quite small and I had to park on the street.
I also noticed that some of the photographs online appear to be quite old, as the dining area was darker and more dated than the pictures suggested.
A couple of suggestions
A small cup for tea/coffee in the room, along with a couple of biscuits, would be a lovely little extra. As I had builders mugs A room freshener might also help, particularly where there is a strong cleaning smell.
It may also be worth considering updating the restaurant/dining area and giving a little more attention to dusting and the smaller details.
