The owner, Otto was so very welcoming. He defined our experience. The artifacts in the hotel were like museum pieces in themselves. So much history contained within. The breakfast was abundant, and we loved being able to have coffee and tea throughout the day. There was also parking (though several of the guests took up so much space, one day we weren’t able to park there). It is located in Oberammergau proper, and a 7-minute drive from the Ettal monastery and restaurant.
Also, they allowed us to bring our cat.
The sofa bed was very hard, and a bit cramped. Other than that, we loved it!! We have referred the hotel to some friends already, and hope ourselves to be return guests.

Breakfast was really good, staff and mr Huber were very friendly and helpful.
Room was a bit tight for space, but everything was clean. There was no space in the back of the property for us to charge our ebikes, but we managed to do this in the room.

The best place to stay in Oberammergau!
Our room had a balcony with a beautiful view of the Kofel. The manager and the owner are among the kindest people I have ever met in my life. The staff are incredibly friendly and greet guests every morning with smiles on their faces. It truly feels like they enjoy their work and love what they do.
Our stay at Hotel Otto Huber felt just like being at home. We can’t wait to come back, and we definitely will as soon as we can!
As for the location, the hotel is only a 2-minute walk from the centre of Oberammergau. Many of the region’s most popular attractions, such as Zugspitze, Neuschwanstein Castle, beautiful mountain trails, monasteries, and swimming pools, are all within about 40–50 km.
You simply have to visit this place and experience it for yourself!
