We truly enjoyed the stay.
The spa-pool area is a much-appreciated addition.
The surroundings are very peaceful, with lush green meadows and steep mountains.
The near-by monastery is the highlight of the area.

The room with a little balcony which was located overlooking over to the mountains was very beautiful, there was an indoor pool with sauna and relaxation pond.
Food with a wide selection and for every taste - everything was really-really good.
We would have liked to stay there even longer.

Breakfast was nicely varied and provided buffet style (no staff serving coffee or tea; all sel serve). Some hot items were only fair, but rolls, yogurt, cheese, meat, jams, juices, etc were typical German and excellent.
Room and bathroom were spacious and clean. Nice view from balcony. Towels were smaller and less absorbent than they should be. Check in was more complicated paperwork than we've experienced in recent years and other hotels on this vacation. Check out was great and quick, including payment. Restaurant had its "Ruhetag" (day off) but other restaurants are nearby. Thus hotel is in a quiet location not far from main road in beautiful Ettal, Linderhof, Oberammergau area.
Bigger towels and more of them would be nice. Free wifi was available, but no one told us... we figured it out and it did not require a password. See notes about some breakfast items being only fair.

Breakfast was varied and fresh. Staff was helpful.
Our room stank of sewage. It was clean, but the smell made it feel dirty. Also didn’t have a cozy feel to it.
