Location, comfortable beds and plenty parking.
Rooms with balcony were out dated with tired furniture. Breakfast nothing to write home about, standard for german breakfast! Lots of trails in the area and would have been useful if there were bicycles to rent to ride to other towns.

A lovely hotel that sits on hillside behind Ettal Kloster. Brilliant views! Attentive wait staff at nice restaurant and a spacious room, with bleating sheep (in a good way) for our alarm clock. :-) We rented a double superior room and it was very comfortable and spacious with a balcony facing the back hillside and walking paths. Krups Coffee, gratis water and mini fridge with snacks available. This was a family dog friendly hotel that made my golden retriever (and us) happy. We were also able to check-in early for a reasonable fee of euro 35. It is a short walk downhill to Ettal and a short drive (or a long walk) to Oberammergau. This area is lovely for easy hiking, good food and great beer. Linderhof Castle nearby.
Nothing to dislike. :-)

The sauna area
Small rooms, toilet was basically on the bed were you sleep , no vibe the feeling was like tickling the box on your stay, no hot water or coffee machine in the rooms and you can also not take hot water in the hotel unless you buy tea! It needs a manager, my duck at Christmasdinner was super dry
