Its hard-earned money 4500 RMB (640 USD) - I have all the proof of double payment

I am writing to bring to your attention a pressing matter regarding a double payment issue I encountered during my recent booking at Anting Villa in Shanghai. I kindly request your immediate assistance in resolving this matter and facilitating the refund process. To provide some context, I made a reservation for a stay at Anting Villa, Shanghai through Booking.com for the dates of [check-in date] to [check-out date]. The booking reference number is [booking reference number]. Unfortunately, due to an unforeseen bank issue, my account was debited twice for the same reservation. Since discovering the double payment, I have been actively communicating with Anting Villa, Shanghai's management. They acknowledged the error and assured me that the refund would be processed promptly. However, despite the reassurances, I have yet to receive the refund, and it has now been more than 20 working days since the incident occurred. Given the urgency of the situation and the extended timeframe since the double payment, I kindly request your intervention and support to expedite the refund process. I believe that Booking.com's involvement will help facilitate a prompt resolution to this matter. So-so

Staff is relly poor as far as I as foreigner am concerned.

Bed is great. Room size is Ok.

Superb

They still serve breakfast in boxes to take to room with no choices. So strange because life was in normal in Shanghai and other hotels had normal buffet breakfast. Hotel staff english language skills should be improved.

Comfortable and convenient

Located in the expat-heavy French Concession, close to the subway. Quiet neighbourhood and a fine hotel building with excellent wifi. Breakfast was Chinese, with some toast and coffee for the rest of us.

The breakfast was excellent as was the location of the hotel. They provided complimentary water which became important on such a hot day.

Disappointing

There were few redeeming qualities of this hotel. It was clean and there are lots of amenities. Location was very close to Line 1 metro.

I arrived at 10 pm and the room was not ready. The maid asked me to wait 20 minutes while she "aired out" the room. The front desk finally exchanged me to another room that ended up being smaller. Overall, the service quality was extremely lacking for the price. I needed to leave early the next morning and the hotel staff was unhelpful in coordinating breakfast to-go. They just told me to "ask the restaurant" who told me no, they cannot accommodate it as it has to be ordered the night before. How hard is it to pack up a boiled egg and some baozis from the buffet? I don't recommend this hotel; you can find better places that are more worth the price.

Much better values elsewhere.

This place is nothing special, especially considering the price. There is not much near there; however, it is very quiet. They use those irritating little disposable shampoo bottles, which just adds to the world's plastic problem. The balcony is completely useless because the doors are locked because the balcony is shared by 2 rooms. I do not know if the room next to me was occupied; however, most of the hotel was not. It would have been nice to have the balcony. Although I didn't try it, the desk woman said it was a Chinese breakfast, which means "not good" for most westerners.

Very good

I liked the location and the facilities. They have complimentary tea/coffee all day served in the lobby for guests staying at this hotel. The area is very tranquil and peaceful conveniently located near 2 subway stations.

Good hotel, clean room, tranquil location

The hotel is a very good value for money. I liked the building. You can see that the hotel is not new, but it has a long history. The location it is what I liked the most, located in the FFC , very near Hengshan road subway station/Zhaojiabang road metro station. Nice peaceful garden. There is a courtyard 2 minutes by foot away called Yongping lane with many western restaurants.
