Toller Kurzurlaub vor Traumhafter Kulisse

Das familiär geführte Hotel, bestach durch seine gute Lage, seine modern eingerichteten und stets sauberen Zimmer samt seiner bequemen Betten. Das gute Angebot an köstlichen Speisen am Morgen sowie am Abend wurde sehr freundlich vom zuvorkommenden Personal gereicht.

Clean and beautiful!

Very clean and beautiful place. Especially rooms were better than in pictures. Staff was wonderful and everything went so smoothly. Lots of sitting areas in the hotel lobby area. Great people working there!

Good location and value for money

location is nice. very quiet. easy downhill path from the train station to the hotel. a bit challenging uphill path from the hotel to the train station. the hotel does arrange complimentary pick up and drop off but was not able to use it because i arrived and left outside the hours of operations. room is very chic and modern but still has the traditional touch. they do offer dinner service for 20CHF but didn't try it - i always come home late from hike. breakfast also included but also didn't try it because i always leave early. staff are very courteous and helpful.

i was struggling sleeping because of no airconditioning. i was aware of it though. no fan as well. i was not comfortable sleeping with my windows open because i am just located on the first floor facing a sketchy open space.

Stunning hotel, highly recommended

This is a beautiful, comfortable and welcoming hotel with stunning views from the balconies and the terrace. Great attention to detail by all staff. Food was delicious - both the buffet breakfasts and the evening meals. A highly recommended place to stay to enjoy everything about Switzerland.

There was little to fault about this hotel or its staff. My only small suggestion would be the addition of some nice toiletries for the bathroom, which were absent. Its worth knowing that refreshments (tea/coffee) are not available in the room but are freely available in the lounge.

Exceptional

Everything was perfect. We loved it. Can't wait to go back again. Rooms are beautiful with wooden furniture and a very shabby chic concept. Stunning 😍 I traveled with my 10 year old, and the hotel sent a car to the Wengen station to pick up. That was just amazing. Food is amazing, 5* feeling!! 4 courses meals, servers are walking around to serve you. We loved it ❤️ View from my room was facing the mountains, which was the highlight .✨️ There is a garden that stole my heart. Overall, I loved it ,love it, and will go back again, no doubt.

The location is great. There are lots of places to sit and relax both inside and out with awe inspiring views of Lauterbrunnen Valley and the mountains.

It would have been useful to have had a fridge in the room. The room was a little small and a bit tired .

Fabulous mountain lodge with great views!

We loved our room and the fabulous view of the mountains! We loved hiking on the nearby trails and appreciated hiking tips from the staff. We were grateful for early check-in and having our bags held after check-out. The room was very nicely appointed. The bed was large and very comfortable. The shower was great. Breakfast was generous. We were very impressed by the 4 course dinners offered for only 20SF. The staff was kind and helpful. It was wonderful to get a ride to and from the train station. The dining and lounge areas are extensive and beautiful in the best mountain lodge traditions. Lastly, we enjoyed our balcony and the nice furniture on it. We were very happy to have stayed here and hope to return!

Would be nice to have an electric kettle and small fridge in the room. This is a minor point, really a wonderful family run lodge.

Wonderful views in Wengen

The corner room had plenty of mountain views, and the balcony was very nice. The restaurant prepared very good food. The breads at breakfast were wonderful. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the shuttle to the train station is useful. The lobby is very attractive. I've stayed here before and it is my top choice in Wengen.

It's a bit of a walk downhill from the train station, but that's not unexpected in a mountain town. Some of the main courses were very small, but the cheese buffet usually included with dessert gave a second chance for ample food.

I miss the time I spent there

the location was really good with awesome view. the breakfast had a good range of food. the facilities looks new and the rooms are very clean and neat. The staff are really friendly

Nothing much except that it is a steep walk to the train station however they provide free shuttle service if you do not want to walk :)

Fantastic

Fantastic location with amazing views and in quieter area of Wengen, just outside hotel hike to Marys caffe which has wonderful panoramic scenery. Proximity to train station, cable car to ski, local ski place is additional benefit. Food is authentic, homemade with great selection of alcohol, eg: Scottish artisan gin Very useful shuffle bus from and to the hotel - no need to carry luggage. Hotel is cosy, well maintained.

Restful and perfect.

location, views, every comfort and cosy alpine style yet ultra clean and modern conveniences, v friendly and attentive staff, good food, warm and cosy family feel -it felt more like a family chalet rather than a hotel. V comfortable room, bed and bathroom with good water pressure. Family owners very much visible and in charge. We couldn’t really fault a thing! Other guests we spoke to felt the same way - wonderful.

Everything was pretty perfect. If there was one small improvement to make, particularly for we Brits, it would have been nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in our room.

A lovely base for exploring the Swiss Alps

Wengen is a beautiful town nestled in the Swiss Alps. The Hotel Alpenrose is located a bit outside of the main part of town which makes me perhaps a quieter location. The quality of the dining for both dinner and breakfast is very high. There are no private cars inside of Wengen. The hotel does a good job in transporting you to the train station or other places as needed.

The rooms are certainly not large (I had a single room), but sufficiently comfortable. The beds were great. After a day of hiking, the bed comfort was much appreciated.

wonderful peaceful countryside retreat with all the amenities

Peaceful country setting with magnificent views of the valley and mountainside. Hotel provided a shuttle and met us at the train station when we arrived. Very helpful staff. made great recommendations for hikes and activities in the area. Very nice to be able to have dinner and breakfast on the hotel premises (included)

Our stay at Hotel Alpenrose will remain one of our all time favorite vacation spots.

We loved Alpenrose. Rooms, service, and especially the views were outstanding. it was quiet and convenient to the train.

The only negative was the walk to the hotel was challenging for me. They did deliver us to the station upon checkout.

Very good

Having a half-board option was nice - the dinners included were varied, good quality and good value for money. Good location - walking distance from train station & supermarket (though uphill from hotel to station). An option to pick up you and your bags from the station (as well as get you there when leaving). TV in the room had many international channels. Nice lounge area.

Small room is really small. :D There's barely enough space if you have a large suitcase. It was also a bit worn out, especially the wooden furniture. Old school bathroom and light above the sink was making crackling noise at night despite being off. Ceiling light in the room was a bit misaligned relative to the hole with wires and you could see into it and it was extremely dusty, which was a bit gross. Breakfast was pretty average.
