Location was central allowing easy access to most parts of the island. The place felt like a home.

A second bathroom would have been nice but I have 3 kids, 2 of which are teenagers.

A fan or two would have been a great addition.

Spacious house, cosy furnished. Difficult to find dhough - if you search by the address. Suggest putting "Casa da Maria" in Google maps.

The house is very humid and there is visible mold building, that smells really bad. NOT A HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT! Mold spores are especially dangerous for people with asthma... The owner did a good job making it "quite cozy" with minimal effort (investment) but all the ESSENTIAL things that would really benefit the guests are missing: -no mosquito nets on the windows -no shutters that would allow ventilating the house )leaving the windows open) while being away - so in the evening we got the awful mold smell again! -no air-conditioning that would help to dry of the house interior and prevent the mold -no dishwasher It is probably the worst house we have rented so far - and it is a real pity, as the investment of a few thousand EUR (see the missing items above) would extremely improve the quality of living there.

The location was beautiful, but you had to have a car. The athmosphere was really nice.

Spacious clean place close to Angra by car. Well equipped kitchen utensils and appliances View of the sea was nice. Nice to have a clothes washer but laundry never dried properly due to dampness. Owner left a small basket of crackers , milk, jam and crackers which was kind. Beds were comfortable with plenty of blankets which came in handy. Nice BBQ outside but we did not use it because it was too cold and rainy outside during winter time. Nice big driveway to park your car.

No hot water or plug for kitchen sink, had to wash dishes in bathroom sink until I could buy a stopper then boil water to do dishes in kitchen sink. Based on other reviews this has been an issue for years. Living room couch was extremely uncomfortable and upon inspection has a broken back. TV was very small but had plenty of channels. Cottage was cold and damp..there was a small oil heater and a wood stove for heating plus a dehumidifier, which ran constantly . The woodstove is unusable because it was not air tight and if you lit a fire you would smoke out the cottage (yes flue iwas open) then doors and windows have to be opened which defeated the purpose of the stove. The lack of appropriate heat coupled with the dampness made our stay very uncomfortable. Would not recommend renting in the winter months. Lastly the dogs next door barked/howled continously as well as other dogs in neighborhood, it was heart breaking to see them tied up on a short leash outside for our entire stay Neighbourhood roosters crowed all day long, it was cute at first but after a week of noise it was not restful. I realize that this is out of the owners control but it added to the quality of our stay..

The house is big and cozy, well equipped and quiet. Has all the amenities but lacks a dishwasher. They left a welcome basket with some food and tea. Big patio and parking space. The views.

No dishwasher. No hot water in the kitchen tap. No blinds. The sofa is very uncomfortable. The chimney is very smokey (the smoke goes inside the house). Very humid in december. Some dead worms under the beds.

We would first like to thank the hosts for a wonderful welcome. The house is well-kept and has a soul. It was nice to stay in Casa da Maria. We lit a fireplace and had a radiator in the room, which is welcome in times of extreme humidity. The accommodation is in a beautiful location, where a rooster wakes you up in the morning and a cow watches you over the fence. It didn't bother us. We slept great. We recommend it to all travelers for a vacation or exploring the beautiful island of Terciere.

We spent some lovely days in Casa da Maria, enjoying the quite and beautiful area, the scenery, the village and of course all the other stunning places on Terceira! The house is equipped with everything necessary for a great vacation and the host is really friendly and accommodating! I love the place! Thanks again Sr Anselmo!

Your laundry gets too long to get dry because of the humidity but this is due to the specifics of the region.
