Wyndham Istanbul Old City

Everything was amazing, from an amazing breakfast where you can see the sight over Istanbul, to the relaxing swimming pool, richly decorated interiors and confort in the room. Everything was very tidy and the personnel always wants to make sure that your stay is alright. 100% would recommend!

My room had an inconvenience with the air conditioning, and heat can be really uncomfortable in Istanbul. But the room had a fan, so it somehow did the work. Apart from that, everything was flawless.

Location was great and friendly staff

AC broke first day and little help. This affected the breakfast in the morning with items not available. The overall breakfast was poor and needs to be improved. Out of our 7 days stay we only attended once as the setup was poor for high end hotel

The location is excellent – very central and convenient, with the Grand Bazaar and the famous mosques only around a 15–20 minute walk away. Considering the location, the price was also very reasonable. Our room was incredibly spacious and comfortable, with a huge jacuzzi right in the middle of it. We didn’t use it as this was a family stay, but I’m sure it would be a fantastic feature for a different occasion! Breakfast was served upstairs, with tables outside on the rooftop, which was a lovely touch. The views from there were absolutely spectacular and definitely one of the highlights of the hotel. Breakfast was extremely busy and quite chaotic, but the staff worked hard and did their best to keep replenishing the food. The food itself was fairly average, but there was fresh fruit and salad available, which was great. The outdoor pool area was another highlight – a really nice space to relax, with very comfortable sunbeds. Overall, the hotel has a lot of potential, especially considering its fantastic location and reasonable price.

We stayed in a basement room and, although it was huge and very comfortable, I personally wouldn’t book this type of room again. There were no windows or natural light, and the lack of ventilation made the room extremely stuffy. There was also a strong smell of mould. I would much rather have a smaller, less luxurious room with a window, fresh air and natural daylight. Unfortunately, our room was not cleaned at all during the day and the towels were not changed, which was disappointing and not what you would expect from a hotel of this type. The hotel generally feels quite run-down and in need of maintenance and refurbishment, with old or broken various damaged items around. The indoor pool and sauna area were particularly unpleasant – they felt dirty and poorly maintained, with several broken or worn-out items. The gym is also very basic, essentially a small enclosed space with only a couple of pieces of equipment. Although the outdoor pool area itself is great and the sunbeds are very comfortable, the sunbeds are stained dirty and had an unpleasant smell when lying on them. The experience at check-out was also disappointing. The receptionist was unpleasant, didn’t look at us or say a word, and simply took the key. A little basic friendliness and acknowledgement of guests would have made a much better final impression.
