Beautiful, if a little remote location.
All the staff we interacted with were friendly and very pleasant.
There are a few bugs and beetles about, but that’s because it’s in country, because the place is clean and tidy.
Food was ok, not great. Hearty, walk a long way style food.
Breakfast is cheap, but poor. We were given one small glass of orange juice, there was apparently no fresh fruit available, and that just left us bread and jam!

Spacious, clean, comfortable beds. Delicious supper served family style so we got to know other guests. The main reason we stayed here was to reduce slightly the distance we had left to walk to Roncevalles. We arrived at Roncevalles exhausted and dehydrated, so were thankful for that few km less.
They don’t have any control of it, but it would be nice if the place is a bit farther from Saint Jean Pied-de-Port, and a bit closer to Roncevalles.

It was the first albergue I stayed on the Camino Frances. Well located on the camino. Incredible views!
The old woman who checked us in wasn’t too happy that we did not speak French. She was mumbling something and we could pick up some words to that effect. I thought it was just us, but the succeding pilgrims who came after us also felt the same. We were glad to have left the next day.
